Organizers of Fyre Festival 2 have confirmed that the event has been postponed, with no new date or location announced. The festival, which had tickets go on sale in February with general tickets starting at $1,400, was originally scheduled to take place in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, from Friday, May 30, to Monday, June 2. However, just less than two months before it was due to happen, ticket holders received a message stating the postponement.

According to reports from ABC News and NBC News, the message to ticket holders read, “The event has been postponed and a new date will be announced. We have issued you a refund. Once the new date is announced, at that time, you can repurchase if it works for your schedule.” Despite the postponement, the message assured attendees that Fyre Festival 2 is still on, with organizers currently looking into new locations and promising to deliver an unforgettable, safe, and transparent experience.

The brain behind the original Fyre Festival in 2017 and the announcement of the 2025 festival, Billy McFarland, had announced in August 2023 that the festival would be making a return. The original Fyre Festival in the Bahamas in 2017, which drew parallels to Coachella, left attendees disappointed with substandard accommodations and false promises of performances from renowned artists. The aftermath of the failed event was documented in the Netflix film, “FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened,” and Hulu’s “Fyre Fraud.” McFarland faced legal repercussions and served time in prison from 2018 until 2022 for two counts of wire fraud.
