DeAnna Pappas’ Ex-Husband Seeks Changes in Custody Agreement
DeAnna Pappas’ ex-husband, Stephen Stagliano, is requesting a modification to the custody agreement for their two children after Pappas’ recent arrest. Following an alleged altercation on February 26, in which detectives reportedly determined Pappas was not the primary aggressor, Stagliano has filed documents in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, seeking adjustments to their custody arrangement.
In the court filings obtained by PEOPLE, Stagliano is also asking for changes to child support and “alcohol testing/monitored visits if indicated.” Stagliano cited his current financial difficulties and Pappas’ alleged issues with alcohol as reasons for his requests.
According to the documents, Stagliano is seeking $1,000 per month in child support, stating that his financial situation has significantly changed and that he is actively seeking employment. He claimed that Pappas’ fluctuating work schedule and alleged drinking habits have made it challenging for him to secure a job.
Stagliano raised concerns about Pappas’ alleged alcohol abuse, listing multiple incidents dating back to September 2019. These incidents reportedly include distressing texts from their daughter and situations where the children were left feeling scared while in Pappas’ care. Stagliano also referenced an incident on April 3, where he claims Pappas put their children in a dangerous situation due to her drinking.
In his filing, Stagliano expressed his worries about the impact of Pappas’ alleged behaviour on their children. He described an incident where he believes Pappas left the children with a neighbour and went to the emergency room, allegedly intoxicated, leaving the children scared and upset.
It was stated in the documents that Stagliano anticipates Pappas denying any issues with alcohol and believes she may present clean tests during the ongoing legal procedures. Stagliano highlighted his concerns about Pappas’ ability to maintain long-term sobriety, referencing past instances that, according to him, demonstrate a pattern of behaviour.
PEOPLE has reached out to Pappas’ legal team for comment on the matter. Meanwhile, Pappas had previously stated in an Instagram post on April 3 that the investigation into the February 26 incident determined she was not the primary aggressor.
The couple shares two children, Addison (11) and Austin (9), and the potential custody arrangements are under review as per Stagliano’s requests. As the legal proceedings unfold, the focus remains on the welfare of the children amidst the parental dispute.
