A teacher from Downers Grove, Illinois, is at the center of shocking allegations of sexual abuse involving a student in her care. The accused, Christina Formella, aged 30, was taken into custody on March 16, 2025, following accusations of multiple counts of sexual abuse. The arrest came after a concerned mother uncovered explicit texts exchanged between Formella and her teenage son, who was a student of the special education teacher.

The victim decided to come forward on March 15, 2025, after his mother discovered incriminating text messages from Formella on his phone. The subsequent arrest of the teacher during a traffic stop was captured by body camera footage shared by Inside Edition, showing her emotional state as she was apprehended by authorities. Despite initially acknowledging the abuse having started earlier, Formella later refuted any claims of sexual relations with the victim, labeling him as a “stalker.”

Following the arrest, new evidence emerged in the form of explicit text messages retrieved from Formella’s phone and a revealing “memoir” found in her Notes app. Among the disturbing content was an entry expressing feelings of betrayal and superiority towards the victim, indicating a turbulent relationship fraught with emotional manipulation from the teacher’s end.
