Sony has announced the much-anticipated release date for the third and final installment of the Spider-Verse trilogy, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.” The film is set to hit theaters on June 4, 2027. The previous films in the series, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” were not only commercial successes, grossing over $1 billion combined, but also received critical acclaim, with the first film winning Best Animated Feature at the Oscars in 2019.

The announcement of the release date was made at the 2025 CinemaCon, where producer Phil Lord and co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson shared their excitement for the upcoming finale to the trilogy. They emphasized that they are taking the time to ensure they get the film just right, promising a massive and visually stunning conclusion that is meant for the biggest screens.

While no official casting announcements have been made yet, it is expected that key voice actors such as Shameik Moore (Miles Morales), Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy), and Jake Johnson (Peter B. Parker) will reprise their roles in “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.” The previous films also featured a star-studded cast including Brian Tyree Henry, Nicolas Cage, Oscar Isaac, and Mahershala Ali.

The plot of “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” remains under wraps, but the conclusion of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” left audiences with a thrilling cliffhanger involving Miles Morales and a parallel universe where he becomes a villain known as the Prowler. Newly released images tease an epic face-off between Spider-Man and Prowler, hinting at an intense and emotional storyline for the final film.
While a trailer for “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” has not been released yet, CinemaCon attendees were treated to exclusive footage that promises an exciting continuation of Miles Morales’ journey. Fans can look forward to the film’s release in 2027, but in the meantime, they can enjoy the fourth installment of Sony’s live-action Spider-Man series, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” starring Tom Holland, set to be released in 2026.
