The reality star also touched on the wider issue of maternal mortality within the Black community, expressing her sadness over the disparities in healthcare faced by Black women. “It just breaks my heart how much Black women suffer with maternal mortality,” Morton emotionally revealed. “We can never be taken seriously. And sometimes they’ll say, ‘Well, you have to find a healthcare provider, or a doctor that looks like you.’ But sometimes, you just have to have people that are still human, that believe you.”
Shamea Morton and her husband Gerald Mwangi are parents to two daughters — Shya, born in 2018, and Shiloh, welcomed via surrogate in 2023.
