Allison Holker Shares Transformation of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss After ‘Ayahuasca Journey’
Allison Holker Boss recently spoke out about the significant shift she noticed in her late husband, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, following an ‘ayahuasca journey’. The dancer opened up about this pivotal moment during an interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show while promoting her memoir, ‘This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light’. Holker Boss expressed that after the experience, Boss “wasn’t the same afterwards,” indicating a noticeable change in his demeanor. She shared, “I feel like his heart was never really in the same place when he came back. There was something missing in his eyes.”

Reflecting on the impact of the journey, Holker Boss highlighted that her husband seemed to have unveiled unresolved emotions within himself that he never fully processed. Despite this, she remembered him as a “wonderful person.” The couple shared a son, Maddox, who will soon turn 9, and daughter Zaia, 5, with Holker Boss also having a 16-year-old daughter, Weslie, from a previous relationship. Holker Boss explained the complexities of navigating her children’s emotions post-Boss’s decisions, acknowledging the deep emotional toll on them and the ongoing therapy they require to heal.
Holker Boss emphasised her children’s resilience and willingness to engage in their healing journey, finding moments of joy and laughter amidst the pain. She discussed the challenges of supporting her children through the aftermath of their father’s choices and the emotional baggage they will carry for a lifetime. Last month, the So You Think You Can Dance judge revealed her motivations for sharing her story in her memoir, detailing Boss’s struggles leading up to his tragic death by suicide at 40, amid criticism from his loved ones and on social media.
In her efforts to raise awareness about mental health issues, Holker Boss has collaborated with organisations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Solomon Family Solutions, and The Defensive Line. She aims to equip herself with knowledge to identify warning signs and support others in similar situations. Through her journey of grief and growth, Holker Boss hopes to prevent further tragedies, stating, “My hope is that we don’t need to lose another husband, brother, father or friend to suicide.” She believes that Boss would have wanted his story shared if it meant saving someone else’s life.
Holker Boss’s candid revelations shed light on the complexities of grief, healing, and resilience in the face of profound loss. Her commitment to mental health advocacy and destigmatising conversations around suicide showcases her dedication to honouring Boss’s memory and helping others in similar circumstances. By sharing her and Boss’s story, she aspires to provide solace and support to those facing similar struggles, fostering a community of understanding and compassion.
