Xiao Mao the cat, a resilient feline who endured an arduous 8,000-mile journey from China to Minnesota in a shipping container, is now on the road to adoption after a challenging road to recovery. The cat was discovered malnourished and weak inside a shipping container in Minnesota and has made significant progress in her rehabilitation under the care of Pet Haven Inc. in Minneapolis. Xiao Mao’s remarkable survival in the container without food or water for three weeks has astonished many, with experts suggesting she resorted to drinking condensation and possibly consuming bugs and rodents to stay alive.
