Meghan Markle and Prince Harry graced the red carpet for a special night out in New York City, attending the annual Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Gala at Spring Studios. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared hand-in-hand at the event, showcasing their support for mental health awareness.

For this event, Meghan chose a sleek black suit from Armani, complemented by a chunky gold chain necklace and a stylish ponytail. On the other hand, Prince Harry looked dapper in a classic black suit. This public appearance follows Meghan’s recent presence at the Balenciaga Womenswear Spring/Summer 2026 show during Paris Fashion Week on October 4.

The couple’s attendance at the gala was not merely for show, as they were honoured with the Humanitarians of the Year Award by Project Healthy Minds. This recognition acknowledges their dedicated work towards creating a safer and more inclusive online environment for families and young people, along with their efforts in promoting mental well-being globally.
In 2020, Harry and Meghan established The Archewell Foundation with a core ethos of making a positive impact through their initiatives. One significant project under their foundation is The Parent’s Network, launched at the Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Festival in 2023. This network serves as a vital support system for parents and caregivers dealing with online-related challenges and tragedies.
The Parents’ Network has expanded its reach across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, demonstrating the profound effect of community-driven assistance in addressing online dangers. As parents themselves to two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Harry and Meghan expressed their gratitude for receiving the Humanitarians of the Year Award and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting families and youth.
During the gala, hosted by Carson Daly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared insights into their ongoing collaborations with Project Healthy Minds. Their engagement marks their return to New York City since April, when Meghan participated in the 2025 TIME100 Summit, discussing her business endeavours and advocating for mental health.
The couple’s visit to New York also included a private vigil at The Lost Screen Memorial, unveiled by The Archewell Foundation. This poignant memorial features 50 smartphones, each displaying the lock screen photo of a child whose life was tragically impacted by online harms—a touching tribute honouring those affected.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will continue their involvement with Project Healthy Minds at the World Mental Health Day Festival on October 10. As they remain steadfast in their commitment to advocating for mental wellness, their public appearances serve as a platform to raise awareness and drive meaningful change.
In an official statement, Harry and Meghan expressed their deep appreciation for the award and their collaborative efforts with Project Healthy Minds. They highlighted the importance of prioritising online safety for families and young individuals, emphasising the profound impact of personal stories on their advocacy work.
