Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, well-known reality TV personality, is eagerly counting down the days until the end of her parole. On Tuesday, Feb. 18, the 33-year-old shared on her Instagram Stories that she has just four months and six days remaining until her parole concludes on Tuesday, June 24. In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, she expressed her excitement for the new opportunities and adventures awaiting her as she transitions into a life without restrictions. Blanchard revealed, “Although I have freedoms while outside of prison walls, I am still in a sense ‘property of the state of Missouri’, so I am looking forward to a life without restrictions or being ‘owned’.”

Having been a victim of Munchausen by proxy, Blanchard was sentenced to a 10-year prison term in 2016 after pleading guilty to her involvement in the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Following her parole grant in September 2023, she was released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center on Dec. 28, 2023. Since her release, Blanchard has rekindled her relationship with ex-fiancé Ken Urker, sparking reconciliation rumors in April after announcing her split from husband Ryan Scott Anderson in March. Jul saw the confirmation of their reconciliation and the exciting news of expecting their first child together.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, on Dec. 28, marking a significant milestone in their journey together. Sharing her joy of motherhood, Blanchard has been open about her experiences on social media, frequently posting about her newfound role as a mother. In a heartfelt Instagram post on Valentine’s Day, she expressed her love for her daughter and partner, calling them her two Valentines. She shared, “They are my two sweethearts this Valentine’s Day,” emphasizing the importance of family in her life.
In another Instagram post on Feb. 17, Blanchard reflected on the healing power her daughter brings into her life, stating, “With every kiss, every lullaby, every cuddle, I heal my inner child.” The post revealed her emotional journey towards healing from past trauma, now finding solace and love through her own child. Blanchard’s openness about her struggles and triumphs as a mother has resonated with her followers and fans, who have shown unwavering support for her throughout her post-prison life.
As she approaches the end of her parole, Blanchard is optimistic about the future and the freedom that awaits her. Her story serves as a reminder of resilience and the potential for new beginnings, even in the face of challenging circumstances. With her daughter by her side, Blanchard continues to embrace each day with gratitude and hope, looking forward to the next chapter in her life unburdened by the constraints of the past.
In a society that often focuses on the mistakes of individuals, Blanchard’s journey stands as a testament to the power of redemption and the possibility of transformation. As she prepares to step into a new phase of her life, Blanchard’s story inspires others to believe in second chances and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
