Country music star Luke Combs recently shared a heartwarming story about an unexpected and generous gift he received from legendary musician Garth Brooks. Combs revealed the surprise on a recent episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, much to the delight of his fans.
During the podcast episode released on August 18, Combs disclosed that Brooks had gifted him a blue Bronco Raptor. The gift came as a shock to Combs, as he narrated the moment when his manager showed up at his house unannounced with the luxury vehicle as a Christmas present.
Combs, aged 35, expressed his initial confusion when his manager handed him the keys to the Bronco Raptor, assuming it was a gift from him. However, he was pleasantly surprised when his manager revealed that the car was actually a gift from Garth Brooks himself.
The Nashville Songwriters Awards ceremony held in 2022 played a significant role in this heartwarming gesture from Brooks. Combs had performed at the event, singing Brooks’ hit song “The Beaches of Cheyenne.” It was this performance that prompted Brooks to express his gratitude by gifting Combs the expensive car.
Reflecting on the event, Combs shared that he was taken aback by Brooks’ kindness, especially considering the financial implications of his appearance at the ceremony. Brooks had acknowledged that Combs could have chosen to perform at a paid event instead of attending the ceremony, making the gift even more poignant.
Despite not having communicated with Brooks since the event in 2022, Combs reached out to express his gratitude upon receiving the gift. He joked about checking with other participating musicians to see if they, too, had received cars as gifts from Brooks.
In his interview on the Armchair Expert podcast, Combs also talked about his upcoming performances and his desire to balance his career with family time. He emphasized the importance of creating meaningful connections with his fans and providing them with exclusive experiences while also prioritizing his personal life.
Combs’ new song, “Back in the Saddle,” was also discussed during the interview, adding to the excitement surrounding his music career. Fans can now stream the song and enjoy his latest musical offerings.
The touching story of Garth Brooks’ thoughtful gift to Luke Combs serves as a reminder of the camaraderie and generosity that exist within the music industry. Combs’ recounting of the event has resonated with fans, showcasing the power of genuine connections and acts of kindness in a competitive field like country music.
