**Man Faces Charges for Threatening Pilot, Flight Attendants, and Passengers**

A man has been apprehended and accused of exhibiting threatening behaviour on a flight from Miami to New Jersey. Identified as Luis A. Vaquero, he was escorted off the aircraft by law enforcement after engaging in confrontational behaviour towards the captain, flight attendants, and passengers during the journey to Newark on Sunday, February 9, as announced by the District of New Jersey’s attorney’s office.

The 27-year-old defendant from Passaic County, N.J. reportedly disregarded instructions from flight attendants, pounded on the cockpit door, and issued threats towards the captain before being removed from the flight by law enforcement officers at Newark Liberty International Airport, according to a press release.

Vaquero has been formally charged with one count of interference with flight crew members and attendants by assault or intimidation in Newark federal court. According to court documents related to the case, Vaquero began alarming fellow passengers shortly after the departure from Miami, making threats of physical violence towards a disabled minor and directing derogatory remarks at a group of Jewish passengers.
Following the conclusion of the beverage service window, Vaquero allegedly menaced a flight attendant, warning, “You better watch out, s—-’s gonna happen to you.” Subsequently, the cabin crew alerted authorities upon arrival at Newark Liberty International Airport. Vaquero proceeded to forcefully make his way to the front of the plane, banging on the flight deck door while demanding the pilot to exit.
A flight attendant intervened to manage the escalating situation when Vaquero threatened, “I will really break your f—–’ jaw,” and directed a racial slur towards them. After confronting the captain within a distance of six inches from his face, Vaquero was eventually escorted off the aircraft by law enforcement.
Acting Special Agent in Charge Terence G. Reilly described the incident as a terrifying attack, emphasizing the gravity of such incidents onboard airplanes that are generating fear among passengers and crew members. He stressed that violating federal laws during flights will result in prosecution and judicial consequences.
Vaquero could potentially face a maximum prison sentence of 20 years along with a fine of up to $250,000 for his alleged actions.
