Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Zendaya were recently spotted in Scotland as they continued filming for the highly anticipated movie, ‘The Odyssey.’ The trio, accompanied by director Christopher Nolan, were seen on the set on July 14, 2025. This sighting comes as filming for Nolan’s adaptation of the ancient Greek epic poem continues, following the release of the movie’s first teaser by Universal in theaters. ‘The Odyssey’ is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.

Matt Damon, who portrays the lead character Odysseus in the film, was photographed arriving in his full costume, complete with ancient Greece-style attire including dark boots, a tunic, cattle armor, and a flowing dark green cape. Both Tom Holland, playing Telemachus, and Zendaya arrived separately off a boat, adding to the air of mystery surrounding the film’s production. This sighting in Scotland marks the first time the actors have been seen filming on location recently, after having been spotted in Favignana, Italy, earlier this year.

The initial teaser for ‘The Odyssey’ featured Holland’s character Telemachus in conversation with a character portrayed by Jon Bernthal, as well as a voiceover by John Leguizamo, whose role in the movie remains undisclosed. Leguizamo, who praised Nolan as a visionary, described the filming experience across seven countries, including Morocco, Greece, Sicily, and Los Angeles. The cast, which also includes Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, and Benny Safdie, has been described as a diverse and talented ensemble.
John Leguizamo expressed his excitement about working on ‘The Odyssey’ with Damon, Holland, and Pattinson, referring to it as a dream team. He highlighted the extensive filming locations and the project’s overall appeal. Nolan, known for his directorial prowess, has brought a stellar cast together for this epic adaptation, following the success of his previous blockbuster, ‘Oppenheimer,’ which garnered multiple Academy Awards.
As the buzz continues to grow around ‘The Odyssey,’ fans eagerly anticipate its release in 2026. With a blend of talented actors, a visionary director, and a classic tale reimagined for the big screen, this movie promises to be a cinematic experience like no other. Stay tuned for more updates and behind-the-scenes glimpses as filming progresses and the premiere date approaches.
