BTS Members Jimin and Jungkook Discharged from Military Service Ahead of Band Reunion

BTS members Jimin and Jungkook have completed their mandatory military service in Korea. According to NBC, RM and V finished their military duties and were discharged on Tuesday, June 10. The band is set to reunite once all members have fulfilled their military obligations.
Jimin (Park Ji-min) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook) of BTS have officially been discharged from their military service, as confirmed by Billboard Korea on Wednesday, June 11. This news follows the recent discharge of their fellow bandmates RM (Kim Namjoon) and V (Kim Taehyung) the day before, as reported by NBC.
Suga is expected to complete his military service later this month through alternative service as a social worker. Fans and media gathered near Yeoncheon Public Stadium in Gyeonggi Province to celebrate Jimin and Jungkook’s completion of their military service. The artists expressed their gratitude towards their supporters.
Jimin thanked the fans and reporters, acknowledging the challenges faced during the pandemic and military service. Jungkook shared his appreciation for everyone who served alongside them and supported them throughout their journey. Both artists teased upcoming plans for the band now that they are back from service.
The mandatory military service for Jimin and Jungkook began in December 2023. Jimin served in the military band under the 5th Infantry Division, while Jungkook fulfilled his duty in the Baekma Division. In South Korea, men aged 18-28 are required to serve between 18 and 21 months in the military.
After RM and V completed their service, fans gathered at Hybe’s office in Seoul to welcome them back. RM expressed his readiness to resume activities with BTS, thanking everyone for their support during his absence. V shared that his time in the military provided a chance to reset physically and mentally.
V also reassured fans that the other BTS members would be discharged soon for a proper band reunion. Formed in 2013, BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan, has achieved significant success, including Grammy nominations and multiple Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping hits.
