KATSEYE, the popular girl group, has announced the postponement of two concerts in Chicago and Minneapolis, citing member Megan Skiendiel’s recovery from a concussion as the reason. The group’s decision, publicised just hours before their scheduled performance at Chicago’s United Center on Thursday, November 5, has left many fans disappointed.
The United Center took to social media to inform fans of the last-minute cancellation, stating, “We’re sorry to share that tonight’s KATSEYE show at the United Center has been postponed due to Megan’s illness. Please do not travel to the venue, as doors will not open for tonight’s show. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.” Ticket holders can rest assured that their existing tickets will remain valid for a rescheduled date that is yet to be announced. Additionally, VIP packages will also be applicable for the new concert date, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend.

The cancellation news was mirrored by the Target Center in Minneapolis, where KATSEYE was scheduled to perform on Saturday, November 7. In an official announcement, the venue emphasised the same message regarding Skiendiel’s recovery.
KATSEYE took to their Instagram Stories to elaborate on the situation, expressing their regret and concern for their fans. “The label has made the decision to postpone our shows in Chicago and Minneapolis as Megan is recovering from a concussion,” the post explained. The group acknowledged the disappointment felt by fans, many of whom had travelled considerable distances to attend the concerts. “We know how much you’ve been looking forward to these shows, and that many of you have travelled long distances to be there,” they wrote. The band extended their gratitude for the understanding and support they have received during this challenging time.
This latest round of cancellations comes on the heels of another postponement in Detroit just two days prior. KATSEYE had to pull out of their performance at Little Caesars Arena on November 3 for the same reason, further indicating the severity of Skiendiel’s condition.
The difficulties for KATSEYE have not been limited to this recent health scare. Back in August, the group had to withdraw from Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival when Skiendiel suffered a sprained ankle during rehearsals. At that time, the decision was made with medical input, as doctors advised her to refrain from performing to allow for proper healing.
The ongoing health issues have not only impacted Skiendiel but have also led to extended breaks for two other members, Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman. Both members cited personal mental and physical health reasons for their temporary withdrawal from the group’s performances.
Despite the recent challenges, KATSEYE has been on their Wildworld Tour to promote their music. The tour officially began in North America on October 13, and KATSEYE remains committed to ensuring the wellbeing of their members while also striving to meet fan expectations.
As the situation progresses, the group is expected to announce new dates for the postponed concerts in the near future. The commitment to rescheduling and fan support highlights KATSEYE’s understanding of the strong connection they share with their audience.
As fans await updates, they have been encouraged to keep their tickets safe, and the group remains hopeful for a swift recovery for Skiendiel. KATSEYE continues to express their appreciation for the loyalty and understanding of their fans during this time of uncertainty.
