Bridget Marquardt, best known for her role in the reality series *The Girls Next Door*, is turning her fascination with the supernatural into a creative endeavour. Marquardt stars in the horror-comedy film *Don’t F— with Ghosts*, and she is also the host of the podcast *Ghost Magnet with Bridget Marquardt*, where her interest in ghost hunting comes to life.

Marquardt’s journey into the world of the paranormal began during her early teenage years. At just 12, she had her first experience with a Ouija board, an event that sparked a lifelong curiosity about the afterlife. Over the years, she has encountered various unexplained phenomena, including what she claims was a sightings of a ghost while living at the famed Playboy Mansion.

In a recent interview, she confirmed her belief that the mansion is haunted, recounting a particular incident from when she was there with her sister and a friend. Having just returned from a trip to North Carolina with a new puppy, the trio were gathered in a bedroom when they noticed a woman standing in the bathroom doorway. Marquardt noted a sense of familiarity when she spotted the apparition, only for it to vanish when she turned to face it directly. Her sister was visibly shaken, while the friend seemed too frightened to look again.
“I recognised her as someone who had been there before I even moved in,” Marquardt explained. She revealed that the woman had worked as a social secretary at the mansion before passing away from cancer. “I think she just sort of came to see the new puppy in the house,” she mused, illustrating the connection she felt with the spirit and her desire to see the normalcy in the paranormal.
In addition to her encounters, Marquardt also shared her unique experience with the late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s spirit. “I don’t try to summon him, but sometimes he appears when I’m with others, like Holly,” she stated. The light-hearted remark about their shared hesitation to engage with Hefner’s spirit showcased both her openness to the idea of the supernatural and her respect for the memories associated with it.
Marquardt’s fascination has, over time, positioned her as a credible personality within the ghost hunting community. She mentioned that while some family members were sceptical, leading them to suggest she might need professional help, these challenges only fueled her desire for more paranormal experiences. “Half my family thought I needed to see a psychiatrist, and the other half thought I needed to see the pastor at our church,” she recalled with a hint of humour. “Instead of scaring me away, it made me want to prove to people that this isn’t strange.”
This passion for the macabre made Marquardt a fitting collaborator for the filmmakers behind *Don’t F— with Ghosts*. The film features two sceptics investigating reputed haunted sites across Canada, and it offers a comedic yet engaging take on ghost hunting. Co-director Stu Stone praised Marquardt’s approach, stating that she brings a friendly and inviting dynamic to her interactions with spirits.
Alongside the film, Marquardt is set to feature in a spinoff series titled *The Great American Ghost Hunt*, which invites celebrities to join her on their inaugural ghost-hunting experiences. Stone, who also stars in the film, expresses his newfound belief after filming the project. “I’ve seen things I never thought I would,” he noted, reflecting on the transformative nature of their experiences during production.
Both *Don’t F— with Ghosts* and *The Great American Ghost Hunt* reflect a growing interest in the paranormal genre, especially within the sphere of entertainment. Marquardt’s commitment to exploring and sharing her experiences has resonated with audiences, making her a prominent figure in the realm of ghost hunting.
Currently streaming on Prime Video, *Don’t F— with Ghosts* offers a blend of comedy and horror that highlights Marquardt’s unique journey through the world of spirits. In an age where the supernatural is often viewed sceptically, her insights provide a refreshing perspective that challenges conventional beliefs and invites a conversation about the unexplained.
As she continues to delve into her interests, Marquardt remains a celebrated figure, not just for her television career, but also as an advocate for understanding the unknown—a project she deeply cherishes.
