Priscilla Presley has recently welcomed a new furry companion into her life, introducing her followers to a 10-year-old rescue dog named Toby. The announcement was shared through a heartfelt video on her social media on October 13, where she expressed her admiration for the dog, calling him a “sweet little lover”.

In the video, the 81-year-old businesswoman and ex-wife of legendary musician Elvis Presley explained that Toby’s past was far from ideal. The fluffy white dog had been living on the streets, where he was reportedly neglected and starving. Priscilla recounted how she learned about Toby through a friend who was aware of her love for animals. This connection prompted her to adopt him, and she is now devoted to helping him adjust to a new, caring environment.

Priscilla highlighted that Toby has settled in remarkably well since joining her family. “He sleeps with me, and everyone loves him,” she noted, adding, “He is adjusted. He is a gem. He has been so good.” The ex-wife of Elvis Presley, who was also known for his affinity for animals, expressed her delight at how affectionate Toby has been. She emphasised the patience she exercised during this transition period, particularly given Toby’s senior age.
Before his adoption, Toby’s condition was troubling; as Priscilla described, he was malnourished and required significant care. “As you see him now, he was not like this. He was not taken care of. He was starving,” she stated, reflecting on her disbelief regarding how the dog ended up in such dire circumstances. “I don’t know if he ran away or not. I don’t know the background,” she continued, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to provide him with a loving home.
Toby’s adjustment is especially impressive, given the challenges senior dogs often face in new environments. Priscilla was keen to share that despite his age, Toby acts much younger. “He doesn’t act like a 10-year-old,” she remarked, demonstrating her joy in the bond they have formed.
Additionally, Toby has integrated well with Priscilla’s other rescue dog, a 15-year-old named Boz. She mentioned with enthusiasm that the two dogs “get along great,” although the ease of their bond remains a mystery to her. “It just happens,” she said, indicating both dogs have adapted to one another’s presence without any difficulties, which is often a challenge when introducing new pets into the home.
Priscilla is known for her commitment to animal welfare and frequently updates her followers about her pets. Earlier, she had shared her joy in rescuing Boz, whom she adopted as a puppy after seeing a plea for help in the newspaper. This dedication to animal rescue has been a significant part of her life, prompting her to travel considerable distances to secure a loving home for dogs in need.
In recent months, Priscilla experienced the loss of another dog, Ridley, who passed away after suffering a short illness. Following his death, she shared a poignant tribute on social media, expressing her heartfelt gratitude for the companionship and love Ridley provided. Priscilla wrote about the impact he had on her life, saying, “I will miss you, shadowing every step I take. Thank you for filling my life with love. You will be deeply missed, my sweet Ridley.”
Through her ongoing involvement in animal rescue, Priscilla Presley continues to highlight the importance of compassion towards animals, particularly those who have faced hardship. With Toby now part of her family, she remains dedicated to providing him with the best quality of life possible, demonstrating the bond that can exist between humans and their pets. As Toby embarks on this new chapter surrounded by love, he is surely in safe and caring hands.
