Jacob Roloff and his wife, Isabel, recently opened up about a developing family dispute regarding their living situation on the expansive Roloff Farms in Oregon. This conflict arises after Jacob’s father, Matt Roloff, allegedly expressed intentions to sell the land where they have made their home over the past four years.

The couple moved back to the farm, made famous by their family’s reality series, “Little People, Big World,” as they were preparing to welcome their first child. In a recent interview, Isabel reflected on the emotional significance of returning to the farm, noting that the experience has been healing for Jacob, who deals with a complex relationship with his past. “It felt like new beginnings,” Isabel explained, highlighting how they both wished to change the narrative surrounding their family’s history and connect with their son in a positive environment.

Jacob Roloff, who first captured audiences’ attention as the youngest son in the Roloff family on the TLC show, has voiced serious concerns about his younger years. He had publicly alleged instances of abuse during filming and expressed dissatisfaction regarding the compensation for his work on the show. After stepping away from reality television at 18 and marrying Isabel away from the cameras, the couple returned to Roloff Farms in 2019, believing they would have a stable future there.
Under an agreement with Jacob’s parents, Isabel and Jacob rented a home on the farm, with the expectation that it would remain in the family. Isabel noted, “It was going well for a while,” but recently, their circumstances took a turn. In a TikTok video posted on September 15, Jacob revealed that it was likely he and Isabel would not continue their residency on the farm past January. He indicated that his father had informed him of the potential sale of the property, leaving them uncertain regarding their future.
For the past five years, a 16-acre portion of Roloff Farms, which includes a lavish mansion featured on “Little People, Big World,” has intermittently been on the market. However, it appears to be a new development that the entire agricultural estate may also be sold. Isabel expressed their feelings poignantly, stating, “We’ve been so grateful to live here, so we just feel devastated.” Despite the looming uncertainty, she clings to hope, adding, “We’re still hoping for a miracle.”
In response to inquiries about the situation, Matt Roloff maintained a focus on his retirement plans and emphasised a desire to treat all family members fairly. The complex dynamics of the family relationships seem to have shifted as recently as three months ago when Jacob described his ties with relatives as “normal.” Isabel, however, perceives a deeper tension within the family, indicating difficulties in achieving unity.
Isabel shared her perspective on the issues at hand, stating, “I think there’s just so much hurt and tension within the family.” Expressing her desire for reconciliation, she emphasised that she cannot repair fences that were never broken by her. When asked about their ideal outcome from the ongoing dispute, she explained, “We just want to continue working and living here, if possible.” The couple does not expect to inherit the farm outright, despite speculation from observers on social media.
As the deadline for their departure approaches, with Jacob and Isabel anticipating a move in January or February, they are mentally preparing for the changes ahead. This includes plans to maintain their agricultural activities elsewhere and ensuring the relocation of their farm animals.
While some followers have suggested they simply purchase a new property, Isabel clarified that this is not a feasible solution for them financially. Additionally, offers to donate to a potential fundraiser have been met with resistance, as they remain mindful of their privilege and the pressing needs of others. “There are way better and more important things to donate to,” she explained.
Despite the uncertainties clouding their future, Jacob and Isabel are determined to focus on the present. The couple remains engaged in the annual pumpkin season, a significant event at Roloff Farms. Isabel enthusiastically encouraged visitors to continue coming out to the farm, as they treasure their time spent cultivating flowers, pumpkins, and vegetables. “It would just be sad to say goodbye,” she lamented, affirming their love for the place where they have shared so many cherished moments.
