So Delicious Dairy Free, a brand owned by Danone USA, has initiated a voluntary recall of certain frozen dessert items due to potential contamination. The announcement was made on 15 September and is linked to the possibility of small stones and other hard objects being present in their Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints.
The affected products, which have a best-by date on or before 3 April 2028, are sold nationwide and span a wide range of retail locations. Consumers are being urged to examine their freezers and refrain from consuming the recalled items, which have been identified as potentially hazardous. If customers find the affected products, they can request either a refund or a replacement coupon from the company.

Danone USA clarified that the recall was prompted by reports from consumers who experienced issues related to foreign objects within the product. The company stated, “Danone USA is working with retail partners to remove affected product from shelves.” Notably, the recall specifically concerns the SKU number 136603 and UPC code 744473476138 that can be found on the pint containers.
This recall comes during a heightened focus on food safety after a different recall was issued by Whole Foods for a specialty cheese item. On 11 September, Whole Foods alerted customers about Fromagerie Coop de Mean Cabricharme cheese, which contained an undeclared egg allergen. This allergen was absent from the product’s label, posing a serious risk to individuals with allergies or sensitivities to eggs. The cheese affected by this issue was sold in several states, including California and New York.
In its recall announcement, So Delicious Dairy Free emphasised that no other items, flavours, or codes are affected by this recent recall. The company has urged any customers who purchased the impacted frozen desserts to reach out through the customer service line at 833-367-8975 or via their website for further assistance.
Danone USA has reported that unaffected products remain available on store shelves and that future products shipped will not be affected by the recall. This proactive measure aims to ensure that consumers can confidently enjoy other offerings under the So Delicious Dairy Free brand without the risk of contamination.
Food safety remains a significant concern for consumers, and the recent surge in product recalls reflects the industry’s commitment to addressing potential risks. Both Danone USA and Whole Foods have taken swift action in response to consumer feedback, aiming to prevent any potential health risks associated with their products.
As the recalls unfold, customers are reminded to stay vigilant about food safety and to check their grocery items regularly. The food industry continues to encourage transparency and swift communication in these situations, as consumer safety must always be the top priority.
