Hailey Glassman, the newest addition to the cast of Bravo’s long-standing reality series “The Real Housewives of New York City” (RHONY), has recently shared insights into her unique marital situation, characterised as a “lavender marriage.” Ahead of the show’s sixteenth season debut, she spoke candidly about her relationship with her husband, who has chosen to remain off-screen in a bid to preserve his family’s legacy.

In an interview published on 7th September, Glassman, 39, explained that her husband, a businessman, was not inclined to participate in the series. “He wasn’t willing to compromise,” she revealed to Bravo Insider, adding that he is deeply invested in a significant business situated on Martha’s Vineyard. The couple, who first crossed paths during their childhood as neighbours in Martha’s Vineyard, have maintained a close bond since meeting at sailing camp when they were just twelve years old.

While primarily based in New York City, Glassman noted that they split their time, particularly enjoying summers on the Massachusetts island. “I just like living on a yacht or in the water and just hanging out and smoking joints,” she said, sharing a glimpse of her relaxed lifestyle. Moreover, she balances leisure activities with commitments to charities and tennis.

The upcoming season promises to unfold a peek into Glassman’s personal life, as she reveals her New York City pied-à-terre. In a confessional, she expressed, “Honestly, I would recommend a pied-à-terre to all women in a long-term relationship,” highlighting her experience after 15 years of marriage. However, she also amusingly commented on the dynamics in their shared living space, where she jokingly feels “like a servant,” as her husband reportedly avoids chores like washing dishes or making the bed. In her own apartment, however, she insists, “It’s Hailey’s rules,” emphasising her preference for cleanliness and order.
Glassman’s past has attracted attention as well, particularly her former relationship with Jon Gosselin from “Jon & Kate Plus 8” back in 2009. She remarked that this experience inadvertently guided her career path into public relations. “I fell into P.R. by being in the tabloids at a young age,” she recounted, explaining how a need for crisis management led her to advocate for those in vulnerable positions without a voice.
The full cast of the sixteenth season was revealed in March, with returning favourites Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, and Sai De Silva, alongside Glassman, celebrity fitness trainer Erika Hammond, and makeup artist Daisy Toye. Additionally, Carole Radziwill is making a return to the series, marking her comeback after an eight-year hiatus.
In promotional materials from Bravo, Glassman shared her excitement about joining the show, describing it as a “dream job.” In a humorous video posted on Instagram, she declared, “I get to dress up, have fun, and fight with girls,” suggesting viewers will be in for engaging drama and entertainment.
As anticipation builds, fans are eager to see how Glassman’s unconventional marriage and vibrant personality will contribute to the dynamics of RHONY’s sixteenth season. The show is set to premiere on 8th September at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Bravo, promising viewers an exhilarating glimpse into the lives of New York’s elite socialites.
With an array of intriguing personalities and stories poised to unfold, “The Real Housewives of New York City” continues to captivate audiences. As the new season looms on the horizon, fans will undoubtedly be watching closely to see how Glassman’s presence influences the iconic series.
