Social Media Dog Tucker Budzyn Dies Days After Owner Announced the Golden Retriever’s Cancer Diagnosis

Tucker Budzyn, a cherished golden retriever who captured the hearts of millions online, has sadly passed away at the age of eight. His owner, Courtney Budzyn, shared the heartbreaking news in a tearful video posted on social media on 5th September, confirming that Tucker died just days after she revealed his lymphoma diagnosis.

In her emotional announcement, Budzyn disclosed that Tucker had initially appeared to respond positively to cancer treatment. However, complications arose when it was discovered that lymphoma had developed in his intestine, leading to an infection that rapidly deteriorated his health. On 2nd September, Budzyn recounted rushing Tucker to the vet for emergency care, where he was treated with antibiotics and fluids, but to no avail.

“I thought that was the last sad video I was gonna make, but it’s not … Tucker passed away Wednesday, unexpectedly,” Budzyn revealed, visibly distraught as she held a box believed to contain Tucker’s ashes. She described the immense bond they shared, stating, “He was literally part of me. He was part of my soul. It feels like I lost a body part.”

Budzyn expressed her sorrow to Tucker’s massive fanbase, acknowledging their shared grief and apologising for the loss they all felt. “I’m so sorry, guys. I know he was yours, too,” she remarked. She initially intended to pay tribute with a simple photo but felt compelled to share the full story due to the overwhelming messages from followers wishing Tucker a speedy recovery.

In a reflection of Tucker’s last few weeks, Budzyn shared that he had enjoyed quality time, going to parks, swimming, and playing in the grass. “He literally saved my life,” she said, implying the profound impact Tucker had on her well-being. “I don’t expect you to understand. Because I never showed how bad things got on my end. But he saw every part of it, and he attached himself to me.”
