O’Brien spoke highly of actor and comedian Adam Sandler, who had the honour of officiating the ceremony. The 63-year-old TV presenter described Sandler’s performance as a blend of humour and heartfelt sentiment, labelling it one of the best he has witnessed. He remarked, “Adam Sandler was brilliant and really sweet and perfection,” praising his ability to strike the right tone for such a momentous occasion.
The comedian went on to describe the ceremonies as “wonderful” and “beautiful,” emphasising the warmth and authenticity that enveloped the event. “The whole thing was just absolutely beautiful. He entertained listeners with exaggerated tales, including his alleged early arrival dressed as a custodian to assist with wedding preparations and a rather absurd game of blindfolded musical chairs that supposedly led to injured guests. Yet, he confirmed that the celebration was a strictly phone-free affair and that many guests stood rather than sat during the festivities.
Reflecting on guests’ experiences, O’Brien noted, “People gave up their phones, which I think was a good idea.” He explained that while designed spaces for seating were available, the atmosphere was vibrant, encouraging mingling and dancing, with music adding to the celebratory mood.
