During the event, which took place on 24 October, the actors expressed their gratitude to the series’ supporters for their unwavering enthusiasm. When asked about the future of the mystery series, DeLoach and Walker eagerly sought confirmation from Hallmark executives. Their excitement was met with enthusiastic agreement, signalling that fans can indeed look forward to more crime-solving adventures.

“I think we got the thumbs up,” Walker remarked, capturing the collective excitement in the room. “So when we get off this boat — ship! — we’re going to shoot another Curious Caterer,” DeLoach clarified, eliciting cheers from the audience.

The Curious Caterer franchise debuted in 2022 with “Dying for Chocolate,” which introduced viewers to Goldy, a single mother and caterer, and Detective Schultz. The pair immediately garnered a following, and four more films followed, including “Grilling Season,” “Fatal Vows,” “Foiled Plans,” and “Forbidden Fruit.” Throughout these titles, the chemistry between the characters has been palpable, with each film blending culinary delights and intriguing mysteries.
DeLoach and Walker took the opportunity to emphasise the vital role that fan support played in reviving the series. “You guys are the reason that this is happening,” DeLoach told the audience. She acknowledged that their engagement on social media and at conventions had not gone unnoticed. Walker echoed her sentiments, revealing that at public events, a significant number of fans would approach them to inquire about future collaborations.
“Eighty percent of the people would come over and be like, ‘When are you guys going to work together again? When are you going to do another Curious Caterer?’” he said. Their conversations with fans evidently helped convey the series’ popularity to Hallmark executives, leading to the much-anticipated revival.
Walker, reflecting on the gap since the two last appeared together on-screen, noted, “Nikki’s the woman I’ve kissed the most next to my wife. So it feels weird having not been in a movie with Nikki in a year and a half now.” He continued, “Nikki and I are in close contact. Every couple of weeks, we’re talking to each other through text or phone. We know there’s more on the horizon for us.”
DeLoach also expressed optimism about the franchise’s future, stating, “We’re pushing for more to get made. I know our fans have made a lot of noise, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.” Her enthusiasm reflects the pair’s commitment to staying connected with their audience and delivering content that resonates with viewers.
As anticipation builds for the sixth installment of the Curious Caterer series, Walker hinted at thrilling developments ahead. “And it’s a good one! A lot of murders,” he teased, raising curiosity about the plots that await fans.
Hallmark’s decision to bring back the Curious Caterer series speaks volumes about the impact of fan engagement. The story of Goldy and Tom has captured hearts, intertwining mystery with romance, and it seems that viewers’ voices have made a significant difference in the continuation of their story.
The sixth film in the series is scheduled to premiere in 2027, allowing fans ample time to revisit their favourite characters and reflect on the compelling narratives established through previous installments. The return of the Curious Caterer franchise stands as a testament to the power of viewer passion, ensuring that Goldy and Tom will face new challenges together once more.
