Kylie Jenner Says Sister Kim Kardashian Was ‘Iffy’ About Her Acting Cameo in Charli xcx Film

Kylie Jenner has revealed that her older sister, Kim Kardashian, initially harboured some reservations about her involvement in Charli XCX’s new satire film, *The Moment*. Speaking in an interview with *Who What Wear*, Jenner shared her sister’s changing perspective after she explained her approach to the role.

The film, which is a comedic reflection on the immense hype surrounding Charli XCX following the release of her album, *Brat*, features Jenner playing a fictionalised, exaggerated version of herself. Initially apprehensive, Jenner sought advice from Kardashian, who at the time was engaged in her own acting project.

“I was really nervous, so I called Kim, who was doing the Ryan Murphy show *All’s Fair* at the time,” Jenner recounted. In their conversation, she revealed her concerns and asked, “Do you think I should do this?” Kardashian, 45, responded cautiously, cautioning her to prepare thoroughly, which made Jenner feel slightly more iffy about proceeding.

However, the mood quickly shifted as Jenner read her part to Kardashian, describing how she planned to perform it. “She was like, ‘Oh! Kylie! You got this. Do it just how you did it on the phone. It’s great,’” Jenner recalled. This supportive feedback provided the confidence Jenner needed as she embarked on her acting journey.

Kardashian noted that while Jenner has always had a comedic side, she had also experienced periods of shyness. “I told her that if she was going to do it, I wanted her to be her,” Kardashian explained, guiding her sister to face any apprehensions about being in front of the camera.

Following the film’s release, Jenner’s performance has garnered positive reviews from critics, leading to multiple acting opportunities. However, she stated that she is being selective regarding her next roles. “I haven’t found the right thing yet,” she mentioned. Recently, she has come across a pilot script that piqued her interest, although it has yet to be greenlit.

“I’m feeling more precious about what I do next because I want to make sure it’s the right fit, especially if I’m going to do something major and have to travel and be away from my kids,” Jenner explained, referring to her two children, Stormi, aged eight, and Aire, aged four.

The collaboration between Jenner and Charli XCX has been described as enjoyable by both parties. Back in February, Jenner revealed that she played a pivotal role in persuading the pop star to cast her in *The Moment*. “We were actually on a flight together, and you were telling me about this project,” Jenner recalled in a video interview. She expressed her belief in both Charli XCX and the film’s director, Aidan Zamiri, which ultimately led to her getting a part.

Charli XCX confirmed Jenner’s account, illustrating a moment of enthusiasm when Jenner asserted her desire to take on a role outside her usual sphere. “That’s basically what I said,” Jenner agreed, affirming her commitment to exploring new opportunities.

Throughout the filmmaking process, Jenner developed a rapport with Zamiri through his prior work directing music videos for various artists, including Billie Eilish and PinkPantheress. “I was like, ‘Well, if you want me, I’ll be there,’” Jenner expressed, demonstrating her eagerness to step out of her comfort zone and embrace this new venture.
