A tragic accident in Turkey has resulted in the loss of seven lives, including two young children, when a minibus overturned in the Lice district on Saturday, August 15. The vehicle, carrying a total of 18 passengers, was on its way to an engagement party when disaster struck, following what is believed to be a tyre burst.

The casualties have been identified as five siblings and their two nephews: Veysi, Vedat, Feyziye, Özcan, and Naide Saylikay, alongside 3-year-old Zeyd Saylikay and Nazya Demirhan. Following autopsies, they were laid to rest at the Yeniköy Modern Cemetery in the Bağlar district.

Official statements from the Diyarbakır Governorship confirmed that nine other passengers sustained injuries during the accident, with various degrees of severity.
