Katia Lindor, the wife of New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor, recently shared the intimate details surrounding the arrival of their son Koa during an interview on PEOPLE’s new WAG World series. With heartfelt candour, she recounted how her husband’s determination and commitment played a crucial role in their family’s newest chapter.

In her conversation, Katia revealed that Francisco’s dedication was apparent as he drove through the night to be present for the birth of their son on March 30, 2025. Just days into the MLB season, Francisco had been in Houston with the Mets, but promptly returned after their series in Miami. “Francisco had to come back actually. He had left for Houston. The Mets had started their season. It was their first series. Then they flew to Miami and he drove from Miami to Orlando when they landed,” Katia explained.
As Francisco reached home at 5:00 a.m., he was met with the urgency of a rapidly progressing labour, as Katia’s water had just broken. “As he opened the door of our bedroom, I was running to the bathroom,” she shared, emphasising the timing of Koa’s birth occurring on Francisco’s scheduled day off.

Despite facing a cold and exhaustion—having cared for their young daughters, Kalina and Amapola, who were also unwell—Katia expressed a sense of confidence rooted in her preparation for the birth. “I was in the thick of labour at that point. I was combating a cold,” she remarked. “I remember thinking, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to get through this,’ because I was feeling a little bit under the weather and I was exhausted.”
Katia attributes the successful arrival of Koa to a spiritual connection she felt throughout the experience. She revealed that she had envisioned Francisco by her side during all her births, highlighting the importance of their bond during these moments. “I manifested all of my births because I really wanted Francisco to be there. He was my main support throughout all of my births and I could not have done it without him,” she affirmed.
In addition to her reliance on her partner, Katia leaned heavily on her hypnobirthing techniques, which incorporate breathwork and deep relaxation to aid the birthing experience. Her commitment to this approach allowed her to remain focused and calm during labour, a method she strongly supports. “I did all of my hypnobirthing and mental work so that I was able to give birth on that day,” she noted.
Beyond the joy of motherhood, Katia has also sought to create a supportive community for parents through her podcast, **Un-a-Parent**. Recognising the challenges of postpartum life, especially following her own experiences, she established this platform to connect with other mothers facing similar struggles. “It started during my first postpartum phase… postpartum depression and not having been surrounded by the conversations that I thought I would have benefited from,” Katia explained.
The overarching mission of her podcast is to provide a safe space where mothers can feel seen and validated in their experiences. “I wanted to provide that space for other moms who might be struggling,” she said, clearly passionate about fostering a sense of community among parents.
Katia’s openness about her journey as a mother and her advocacy for mental health in postpartum periods brings to light the often-overlooked challenges faced by new parents. As she balances family life with her husband’s demanding career, her story serves as an inspiration for many, emphasising the importance of support systems in navigating motherhood.
From the moment Koa entered the world, the Lindor family has welcomed a new chapter filled with joy, love, and the strength of their unwavering bond. Naming their son Koa might reflect the spirit of new beginnings, and it’s evident that, with Francisco’s steadfast support and Katia’s dedication, they are well-equipped to embrace the future as a family.
