The decision to recall approximately 211,000 pairs of sandals follows reports of decorative pearls detaching from the footwear. While there have been 23 documented incidents concerning the pearls coming loose, fortunately, no injuries have been reported thus far. The sandals in question are tan and designed with two raffia straps secured by gold buckles.

Target took action on 16 July when it initiated the recall. The CPSC warns that the decorative pearls may pose a choking risk, prompting the retailer to advise consumers to cease use of the sandals immediately and keep them away from children. Parents and guardians are encouraged to return the sandals for a full refund.

Those affected have a couple of options for returning the sandals. They can either go to any Target store for a direct refund or opt for postal return using a prepaid shipping label provided by Target. This process aims to facilitate immediate resolution for consumers concerned about the safety of the product.
The Cat & Jack Toddlers’ Sequerah Sandals were available in sizes ranging from 5T to 12T and have the brand name printed on the sole. The sandals were sold both in Target stores across the UK and online between January and May at a price point of around £20.
For those seeking further assistance, Target has established a customer service hotline. Consumers can reach out toll-free at 0800 591 3869 between 12 p.m. and 4 a.m. GMT, or visit Target’s official website for more information regarding the recall.
As awareness of the recall increases, parents are urged to check if they possess the sandals in question and take the appropriate action based on the safety guidelines provided by Target and the CPSC.
This recall serves as a reminder of the ongoing vigilance required in ensuring the safety of children’s products. Consumers are encouraged to stay informed regarding product recalls to avoid potential risks associated with defective items.
Target has yet to issue a detailed public statement regarding the recall, as efforts to reach the retailer for additional comment have not yet met with success. Nevertheless, this type of proactive measure reflects Target’s commitment to maintaining consumer safety and trust in its products.
