Rock singer Wes Scantlin, famously known as the frontman of Puddle of Mudd, has recently been arrested and is facing serious charges related to domestic violence and drug possession. The incident took place in Torrance, California, where police responded to reports of a disturbance at Scantlin’s apartment in the early hours of Tuesday, March 11. According to TMZ, law enforcement sources revealed that a verbal altercation between Scantlin, 52, and his girlfriend turned physical, resulting in visible marks on the girlfriend’s arms.

Following the altercation, Scantlin was taken into custody and during a search, police allegedly found a small quantity of drugs in his possession. He was arrested at around 4:00 a.m. local time and was subsequently booked into jail at 5:12 a.m. However, he was released on bond on March 15 after posting bail. The charges brought against him include felony charges for domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance. Court appearances for these charges have been scheduled for March 28 and April 15.

This is not the first time that Scantlin has encountered legal troubles. Earlier this month, he made headlines for a concerning performance at a charity concert, where he later claimed to have been drugged before the show by one of his former bandmates. Additionally, less than a year ago, the singer was involved in another incident in California that led to a SWAT standoff.
In the previous incident, Scantlin was stopped for a traffic violation in Burbank, California, only to be discovered with an outstanding warrant related to possession of a weapon at an airport. The situation escalated as he refused to exit his vehicle, prompting police to use pepper spray after failed negotiations. Eventually, a SWAT team intervened, leading to his arrest for resisting arrest and the outstanding warrant.
The musician has also had run-ins with the law in 2015, being arrested twice for suspected driving under the influence. With this recent arrest adding to his legal woes, Scantlin’s history of legal issues continues to garner attention.
