Millie Bobby Brown, the acclaimed actress known for her role as Eleven in Netflix’s blockbuster series “Stranger Things,” has expressed her desire to revisit her iconic character, particularly if the storyline allows for a resurrection of Eleven. During a recent appearance on The Playlist Podcast Network’s “The Discourse,” Brown, who is now 22, shared intriguing thoughts about her character’s future following the series’ finale.

The actress was prompted by host Mike DeAngelo, who mentioned that his young son had a keen interest in understanding the events that transpired at the end of the hit show. In response, Brown regarded the conclusion as somewhat ambiguous, revealing, “Honestly, I don’t even know. Objectively, she looks like she’s dead, but there’s the ending that opens the door. Maybe she’s smarter than everyone thinks, and she got out.” This suggests that there remains a sense of mystery about Eleven’s fate.

When DeAngelo posed a hypothetical scenario about Eleven’s life at 30, Brown was enthused by the idea. “I would love that. I’m not finished with El. I love her so much,” she said, indicating her ongoing attachment to the character. She admitted that, while she was satisfied with how the series concluded, it was still an emotional experience to part ways with the character she portrayed for over a decade.

Throughout the promotional tour for “Stranger Things,” Brown was open about the emotional upheaval she experienced after the series wrapped. Speaking previously on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, she candidly admitted to feeling lost and sorrowful, particularly in January after the last episode aired. “I had a bit of a lull in who I was,” she reflected, underscoring the profound impact the character has had on her life.
Notably, Brown revealed that she wore black during the press tour as a form of homage to Eleven, symbolically marking a “funeral” for the character. She noted that the emotional weight was compounded by witnessing her fellow cast members grappling with the show’s conclusion. “Feeling everyone else’s grief … it was too much,” Brown recalled, as she reached out to her co-stars for reassurance that their friendships would continue beyond the show.
In a previous appearance on the “Today” show, Brown also shared her experience of filming the final scenes, where the reality of the series ending hit her all at once. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is my last day. This is the last coffee I’m going to drink, the last mark I’m going to stand on,’” she explained, highlighting the bittersweet nature of finality in a long-term role.
Currently, Brown is celebrating the release of “Enola Holmes 3”, which debuted on Netflix on 1 July. This third installment has been highly anticipated, especially after a nearly four-year gap since the first sequel. In “Enola Holmes 3,” Brown reprises her role as the young detective, tackling a case that promises to be even more challenging than those encountered previously.
As for Enola’s ongoing story arc, Brown teased that the character’s relationship with Lord Tewkesbury, portrayed by Louis Partridge, evolves significantly in this film. She conveyed excitement about the narrative developments, sharing that, “The stakes feel bigger, not just in terms of the mystery, but emotionally too.” This hints at a deeper exploration of character dynamics, particularly between Enola and Tewkesbury, which has intrigued fans of the franchise.
While there have been no concrete announcements regarding a potential fourth “Enola Holmes” film, Brown’s charisma and talent continue to resonate with audiences worldwide. Her reflections on Eleven and the possibility of revisiting the character in the future highlight both the pressures and privileges of performing a role that has become culturally significant.
As fans eagerly await any news regarding Brown’s future projects, it clear that her legacy with both Eleven and Enola is far from over. With the growth she has displayed both as an actress and an individual, audiences can look forward to witnessing her continued journey in the coming years.
