Renowned Hallmark actor Brennan Elliott is set to premiere his latest film, *A Castle of Our Own*, on June 27. This production represents not just another addition to his impressive filmography but also a poignant moment in his life following the tragic loss of his wife, Camilla Row, in March 2025.

Elliott, aged 51, plays the role of Adam, a character who finds himself stagnant after the death of his wife while striving to complete their dream home. With the film debuting 15 months after Row’s passing, the overall theme of recovery resonates deeply with Elliott’s personal journey through grief. In a touching interview, he reflected on the complexities of moving forward after experiencing such a significant loss.

He openly shared that his journey of grief has been fraught with challenges, yet it has also been a learning experience. “It’s tough to move forward when certain things happen to you, but you’ve got to keep plugging away. I feel like this is the next chapter of my life,” he explained, highlighting the importance of perseverance.

Elliott and Row, who worked as a clinical psychologist, are the parents of two children, Liam and Luna, aged 13 and 11, respectively. Row was diagnosed with gastric cancer in 2018 and became an outspoken advocate for others grappling with the illness. Elliott announced her death through social media on March 22, 2025, describing her as not only his soulmate but also an incredibly strong individual and a devoted mother.

In the aftermath of her passing, Elliott found himself enveloped by grief, a process that he admits has been both painful and enlightening. He noted that the pain of loss can be daunting, but it has also taught him lessons regarding resilience and emotional healing. “Grief doesn’t have to be scary. Yes, it’s painful, but it’s really taught me a lot about a lot of things that I wouldn’t have ever learned if I didn’t go through it,” he said.

Therapy has played a crucial role in Elliott’s healing. He recounted a moment from November when he attended a dinner with a friend and had to leave early due to feeling overwhelmed. It was through these experiences that he began to understand the necessity of allowing himself the space to feel and process his emotions. “I needed to sit and channel those feelings and talk about them,” he remarked, expressing gratitude for the newfound clarity he gained in February.

While Elliott worked on various productions during Row’s illness, he described that time as a constant state of survival, worrying about her health while trying to maintain his career. “There was a lot of pressure,” he admitted. “I was much more focused on the job because I had to ensure she was okay.”

His perceptions of past works have also shifted since Row’s death. Upon rewatching the 2022 film *The Gift of Peace*, where he and co-star Nikki DeLoach portray characters navigating grief in a support group, he remarked on his transformation. “I saw a totally different movie than what I remembered. The Brennan from then was focused on survival; the man I am now is not that guy.”

Elliott acknowledges that he will always carry grief from the loss of Row, but he is also committed to honouring her memory through a renewed life perspective.
