The concert took place at the Grand Casino Arena, where Richie was entertaining the crowd during his rendition of “Dancing on the Ceiling.” Reports indicate that Richie, while delivering a light-hearted moment, jokingly remarked, “When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down.” He then took a seat on a platform, proceeding to deliver a version of “Three Times a Lady” from a piano. Following that performance, he initiated an unplanned intermission.
Audience members were left in suspense as Richie’s band continued to play background music for about 15 minutes before departing the stage. After a significant intermission, Dino Soldo, the saxophonist, addressed the crowd. He explained that Richie was feeling unwell and would not be returning to complete the concert.

Despite this setback, John Paris, the drummer of Richie’s tourmates Earth, Wind & Fire, later revealed that the singer had shown no visible signs of illness ahead of the performance. Paris suggested that Richie was simply “a little dehydrated,” providing a sense of comfort to worried fans.
This concert marked the beginning of Richie’s “Sing Along All Night Long” tour, a collaboration with Earth, Wind & Fire. This tour comprises 26 performances, and it follows previous successful runs in the U.S. and Canada in 2023 and 2024. Earlier, Richie encountered delays during a show at Madison Square Garden due to adverse weather conditions that prevented him from arriving on time.
Richie’s next scheduled performance is in Chicago on June 26, with other upcoming shows in cities like Toronto, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The tour is slated to conclude in Austin on August 14. Following this extensive tour, Richie has additional concert dates set for Malta and the UK in August, and another performance in St. Louis later in the year, rounding off with a December show in São Paulo, Brazil.
