Corey Feldman, the well-known actor and musician, recently addressed a health scare that led to his brief hospitalisation. The 54-year-old experienced a medical emergency while travelling on a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles on Monday, June 15. Upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Feldman was met by paramedics who attended to him at the gate.

Feldman has since clarified that the health issue was down to food poisoning, countering earlier reports that suggested a more serious condition. Initially, the actor was examined by a fellow passenger on the flight who was a doctor, but subsequent tests indicated that he did not have gallstones as previously suspected.

On June 17, two days after the incident, Feldman took to Instagram to update his fans about his condition. In a video recorded in what appeared to be a studio, he assured his followers that he was on the mend and busy working on new music. “I don’t even know what it’s called yet; it’s that brand new,” he said enthusiastically, hinting at the musical project he was undertaking.
In the same post, Feldman expressed gratitude for not facing a more severe health issue. “I WANTED 2 TOUCH BASE AFTER THAT BIG OL HEALTH SCARE & LET U ALL KNOW IM ALIVE & WELL!” he exclaimed in capital letters. He went on to elaborate on the misdiagnosis, blaming a communication breakdown where someone from the medical team relayed incorrect information to the media based on preliminary blood test results.
The former child star had been in Chicago celebrating the 40th anniversary of his iconic 1986 film, *Stand by Me*, where he reunited with co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton. The event took place shortly before his flight back to Los Angeles, where he reflected on the memorable moments shared with his castmates over the years.
Feldman had also shared stories from his trip to the Windy City, including a visit to a monument dedicated to Michael Jackson at the singer’s childhood home in Gary, Indiana. This trip not only marked a celebration of a beloved film but also allowed Feldman to reconnect with significant memories from his past.
In light of the health scare, Feldman’s fans have been supportive, with many expressing relief upon hearing that he was recovering. He confirmed that he intends to continue his creative work, with a new single titled “What Am I Here 4” expected to drop on June 22, just ahead of his birthday celebrations.
The actor is slated to perform at “B-Day Bash” shows in California later this week as part of his upcoming 55th birthday celebrations on July 16. In earlier interviews, Feldman described the tour screenings of “Stand by Me” as resembling a rock ‘n roll experience, and there is a possibility of adding more dates in the future due to the enthusiastic response from fans.
As Feldman moves forward with his career, his recent experience seems to have added a new layer of appreciation to his life and work, highlighting the importance of health and the support of his loyal fans.
