He accused the Trump administration of conducting what he describes as a politically motivated investigation, asserting that officials have interrogated his friends, former associates, and even his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom. He argued that this is an effort to find a crime where none exists, stating, “They have not found a crime — they are simply trying to find one.”
The Democratic governor, aged 58, characterised Trump as the “most corrupt president in American history.” In his remarks, he expressed confidence, stating, “We have nothing to hide. Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere. The country is watching.” This bold declaration reinforces his stance that Trump’s actions are aimed at undermining his potential presidential run.
