**Christen Goff Reflects on Love Story and New Motherhood with Husband Jared**

In a heartwarming revelation during the latest episode of PEOPLE’s WAG World series, Christen Goff, model and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit star, shared the unique beginnings of her romance with NFL quarterback Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions. The couple, who tied the knot in June 2024, welcomed their first child, daughter Romy, in July 2025, an event that has brought new perspectives into their lives.
Christen, 33, disclosed that her journey to find love began in the digital realm when she crossed paths with Jared, 31, on the dating app Raya. Speaking candidly to host Skyler Caruso, Christen explained how her mindset following a previous relationship influenced her initial hesitation towards Jared. “I wasn’t really looking,” she said, reflecting on her state during this transformative period.
Despite her reservations, Christen amusingly recounted how close she came to swiping past Jared on the dating app. She recalled thinking, “This guy looks like boyfriend material,” but added with a laugh that she was not particularly interested in starting a serious relationship at that time. The couple’s first outing was at one of Christen’s favourite local restaurants, a detail that she now cherishes. “We just hit it off right from the start and it’s been amazing ever since. I can’t believe here we are almost eight years later,” Christen said, expressing her astonishment at the journey they have shared.
With Jared’s NFL career seeing him drafted first overall to the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 and later traded to the Detroit Lions in January 2021, Christen was focused on her goals in California. Throughout their relationship, both have reflected on their initially low expectations of finding true love through a dating app. “I think both of us were probably not taking it too seriously. You never really think you’re going to meet someone on a dating app – but we did!” Christen remarked.
As she navigates the transition into motherhood, Christen has also observed a shift in Jared’s perspective towards the sport he loves. She spoke about how the arrival of their daughter has altered his approach to wins and losses on the field. “When I first met Jared, the losses, they still of course mean so much, but I think when you have a family, you realise that everything’s the same no matter what,” she explained. “Life is the same, and the people in your life love you the same.”
Despite the competitive nature of Jared’s career, Christen noted that the couple’s focus has evolved. “Of course, it’s way more fun to win. We want to win every game, but you also just have to put it into perspective like how lucky we are to even be in this life.” This perspective shift is a testament to their growth together as a couple and as new parents.
