Popular beauty influencer Mikayla Nogueira recently shared a concerning incident that unfolded while she was filming a TikTok video. In an emotional update posted on Friday, June 12, the 28-year-old influencer revealed that she experienced severe pain, fainted, and was subsequently rushed to hospital for emergency surgery to remove her appendix.

In the original clip shared on her TikTok account, Nogueira filmed herself wearing a hospital gown while passing through the medical facility with an IV drip. Overlaying the video, she wrote, “POV: you passed out from severe pain while filming a makeup TikTok, called 911, rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, and now you’re getting emergency appendix removal surgery.” The video concluded with her sharing the news in a light-hearted way, saying, “So I just had my appendix removed 😳.”
In a follow-up video aimed at reassuring her followers, Nogueira recounted the events leading up to her hospitalisation. She explained that while returning home to Massachusetts from Los Angeles, she first suffered from discomfort which she initially dismissed as an ordinary stomach ache. Believing she could simply “sleep it off,” Nogueira soon experienced even greater pain upon waking the next morning.
Describing the moment when she fainted, she recalled trying to film a makeup tutorial when the room suddenly began to spin, leaving her unable to breathe. With alarming clarity, she shared that she fell to the floor and passed out. When she regained consciousness, Nogueira quickly dialled 911, prompting an ambulance to transport her to the nearest hospital.
At the hospital, medical professionals conducted a CT scan which revealed that her appendix was close to rupturing. “So they put me into immediate emergency surgery, and I no longer have an appendix,” she said with a laugh, showing her characteristic sense of humour even in a difficult situation.
Post-surgery, Nogueira provided further updates about her recovery journey, stating that she had undergone the procedure through three incisions on her abdomen, which currently limits her mobility. She expressed gratitude for the support of her boyfriend, Zach, who has been taking care of her during this challenging time, noting, “It’s really sweet of him.”
Nogueira also took this opportunity to share some personal background regarding her relationship with Zach. Amid ongoing divorce proceedings from her estranged husband, Cody Hawken, she explained that she and Zach had a long history. The couple began dating in high school, experienced a decade-long separation due to differing life paths, yet their bond remained strong. “After high school, Zach fought to be with me for 10 years straight,” she reminisced. “I was in college, he was in the military. The timing was never right.”
Despite these challenges, Nogueira indicated that they always cared deeply for one another, and their reconnection appears to have brought joy and comfort to her during her recovery phase. She ended her follow-up video with the sentiment, “It’s going to be an interesting few days, and I just wanted you to know what happened. I love you, and I will be here, in my bed.”
