Andy Cohen, a prominent executive producer and host within the realms of reality television, has expressed his reservations about the possibility of introducing a St. Louis version of the popular “Real Housewives” franchise. In a recent interview with KMOV, the veteran television personality reflected on his ties to his hometown, reaffirming that the concept feels like a “hard no” for him.
Cohen, who has become synonymous with the Bravo network, revealed that the thought of filming a version of the franchise in St. Louis is not appealing. He stated, “I just can’t imagine how annoying it would be for my mum, dad, sister, and everyone I know to be involved in the drama – whether that means auditions or concerns about how they might be portrayed on the show.” He indicated that he prefers to keep his personal life separate from his professional commitments.

The 57-year-old media figure further elaborated on the potential complications of having such a production grounded in his home city. He noted his extensive involvement with related projects, mentioning the current realities of various franchises spanning locations such as Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City, among others. These commitments already present a significant amount of drama, and he fears this would only be multiplied if it were to include his friends, family, and acquaintances back home.
Moreover, Cohen acknowledged that he is actively engaged in his family life, being the father of two young children, Ben and Lucy. The additional pressures of a local “Real Housewives” franchise are not something he feels inclined to manage, remarking, “I have so much noise in my life. With two little kids, it’s probably for the best that I keep it like it is.”
Despite these reservations regarding the franchise, he did express fond memories of growing up in St. Louis. Cohen described his early career in the city as a source of creative stimulation, recalling how he interned at KMOV during his high school years. “The more I come back, the more it reignites my love for the place,” he shared, suggesting that his ties to the city are significant and enduring.

Although he has ruled out relocating permanently, Cohen indicated a desire to maintain a strong connection with St. Louis. He mentioned plans to visit the city more frequently, particularly with his children, aiming to recreate some of the magic he felt during his own childhood experiences. “I think it will be a little overwhelming, but also completely awe-inspiring,” he said, as he looks forward to introducing his children to the identity and culture of the city.
This past year, Cohen has made several trips to St. Louis, and he hinted that he is excited about the adventures that lie ahead with his family, including a hopeful visit to the Muny, a popular outdoor musical theatre. Such outings represent for him not just a return to familiar places, but also an opportunity to create new memories with the next generation.
Meanwhile, the popularity of the “Real Housewives” franchise shows no signs of waning, continuing to expand with new locations and spin-offs. As it stands, Cohen is focused on his existing projects rather than potential future expansions into territories that might complicate his personal and social life.
In essence, Andy Cohen remains committed to his responsibilities at Bravo, while valuing the importance of personal time and familial relationships within his hometown, favouring those over expanding his television empire into St. Louis.
