Alison Victoria, the former co-host of HGTV’s “Battle on the Beach,” has recently expressed her thoughts on being omitted from the show’s revival for its fifth season. Victoria claims that her previous comments about the series being “canceled” may have hindered her opportunities for a comeback.

In July 2025, during an episode of her podcast “Pap Smear,” Victoria mistakenly stated that “Battle on the Beach” had been cancelled after its fourth season, rather than clarifying that it had not been renewed. This miscommunication seems to be central to her belief that HGTV did not extend an invitation for her return.
On May 11, HGTV announced that they would be bringing the show back, with Ty Pennington returning as co-host alongside new faces Mika Kleinschmidt and Sarah Baeumler. Victoria revealed her thoughts in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, where she shared her perspective on how her phrasing may have affected her standing with the network.
“I should have used the term ‘not renewed’ instead of ‘canceled,’” she acknowledged. Victoria explained that she does not typically edit her podcast discussions and often approaches the topics spontaneously. “It’s just conversation. I don’t have notes… I should be more prepared, but sometimes it’s just a casual chat,” she admitted.
Victoria found out about the show’s revival through her former co-host and close friend, Taniya Nayak. In discussing the news, Nayak informed Victoria that neither of them would be returning. Victoria responded with an acceptance of the decision, saying, “I expected that.” She emphasised her fond memories of the show and reflected on the great moments they had created on air together. “For me, we loved that show and we just had fun,” she reminisced.
Despite the disappointment of not returning, Victoria is optimistic about the future of the programme. “Now it’s time to pass the torch and see what they’ve got,” she stated, expressing a genuine wish for the show’s success and for high ratings. She added, “I hope that the ratings are amazing.”
Currently, Victoria maintains a busy schedule, hosting “Sin City Rehab” while also working on other projects such as “Scariest House in America” and “Ugliest House in America,” both of which are presented by Retta. She indicated that her commitments might have played a role in her absence from “Battle on the Beach.” “Even if I had been asked back, I wouldn’t have been able to do it, because there was no way to juggle it,” she explained.
Victoria concluded her thoughts by saying, “Part of me hopes that maybe they didn’t ask me back because they knew I didn’t have time.” While it remains uncertain what the future holds for her and the show, her fans and followers will be keen to see how her current projects develop and how the upcoming season of “Battle on the Beach” fares without her.
