During a recent appearance on the SHE MD podcast, co-hosted by her physician Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney, Jenner provided details of her experience. She recounted how a routine full-body scan, conducted by Prenuvo, revealed a “tiny spot” on her ovaries. Initially, medical professionals recommended monitoring the growth, but during a follow-up scan a year later, it was clear the condition warranted further action.

Dr. Aliabadi outlined the pertinent risks associated with postmenopausal ovarian growths. Unlike younger women, for whom cysts can often result from ovulation, growths in older women can indicate potential health concerns. Given that ovarian growths are not typical after menopause, the doctor advised that any increase in size should be examined closely. This led to Jenner’s decision to have the hysterectomy, which she documented during the 2024 season of the reality series The Kardashians.
Kris Jenner articulated her reasoning for choosing the procedure, stating, “I would rather be clear of any, you know, medical complication or anything having a chance to attach itself and grow back.” Highlighting the importance of proactive healthcare, she continued, “Who knows what is in there when she does go in there?” Ultimately, the 70-year-old said that proceeding with the surgery was one of the best decisions she could have made.
The hysterectomy itself was a relatively swift procedure, lasting just 22 minutes. Dr. Aliabadi confirmed that she had documented the surgery, providing Jenner with a personal record of the experience. Following the operation, the physician remarked on the healthy state of Jenner’s uterus, commenting, “That uterus did you good,” to which Jenner readily agreed, acknowledging its contributions to her family.
Reflecting on her pregnancies, Jenner noted that they were predominantly uncomplicated, with the exception of her last pregnancy with Kylie Jenner, during which she developed gestational diabetes. She joked about the challenges of pregnancy at the age of 41 and playfully attributed some of her difficulties to indulging in too many treats during that time.
Despite the health scare, Jenner has remained positive about her overall health and future. She emphasised the value of being mindful about health issues, particularly as one ages, advocating for awareness and early intervention in case of potential medical concerns.
As a mother of six, Jenner’s health journey resonates beyond her personal experience, highlighting the importance of health awareness for women, particularly those who are postmenopausal. Her decision to document the procedure and share insights into her health reflects her commitment to transparency with her audience and may encourage others to prioritise their health screenings.
Overall, Kris Jenner’s experience serves as a reminder of the significance of regular medical check-ups, especially for women as they transition into different life stages. Her candidness about her journey and the proactive steps she took illustrates the importance of addressing health concerns head-on and seeking medical advice when necessary.
