In a striking new chapter of his career, actor Walton Goggins has taken on the role of the spokesperson for GoDaddy’s latest promotional campaign, “Daddy of Domains.” The campaign was exclusively unveiled by PEOPLE on April 22 and sees Goggins harnessing his growing reputation as a “daddy” figure, a label that has emerged following his successful performances in popular television series such as *Fallout*, *The Righteous Gemstones*, and *The White Lotus*.

At 54, Goggins has transitioned into the commercial realm with impressive zeal, having starred in a variety of high-profile commercials over the past year, including a memorable Super Bowl advertisement for GoDaddy. Additionally, he has featured in a playful Doritos short film and adopted the role of the Grinch for a major holiday campaign with Walmart.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Goggins expressed his enthusiasm for the creative freedom found in short-form storytelling. “When we did the Super Bowl commercial for Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses, it was rewarding to embrace the challenge of telling a story in 15, 30, or 60 seconds,” he shared. Goggins noted that this venture into commercials was something he had long aspired to achieve.
Transitioning from film and television to commercials has not been without its challenges, however. Goggins turned to his friend and two-time co-star, Samuel L. Jackson, for guidance in this new realm. “I asked him early on, ‘Sam, how do you do it?'” Goggins recalled, fondly remembering Jackson’s famous catchphrase as a spokesperson for Capital One: “What’s in your wallet?”
Jackson’s advice clearly resonated with Goggins, who reflected on the importance of authenticity in advertising. “When he said that to me, I thought, if I ever get the chance to work with a company at the level of GoDaddy, I’m going to speak from my heart and do it my way,” Goggins added. This perspective has evidently allowed him to carve out a unique niche in the world of commercials, while still allowing his personal voice to shine through.
Filming for the GoDaddy campaign took place in Madrid whilst Goggins was occupied with a project for Prime Video titled *Mister*. Despite the tight schedule, he was enthusiastic about the collaboration. “They made the trek, and I had a day. Everybody knew the time constraints,” he explained. Goggins was keenly aware of GoDaddy’s objectives for the campaign, saying, “I was as passionate about this message as they were.”
In this latest advertisement, Goggins aims to connect with audiences by making the messaging both impactful and enjoyable. He underscores the importance of having fun while delivering crucial information, explaining that engaging with viewers could be the secret to effective communication in advertisements.
Reflecting on how his journey has evolved over the past year, Goggins articulated a genuine affection for the commercial landscape he finds himself in. “That’s kind of happened for me. And I love it, man. I relish that,” he stated, highlighting his satisfaction with this new chapter in his career.
As Goggins continues to adapt to the fast-paced world of commercial acting, he remains grateful for the insights shared by mentors like Samuel L. Jackson. With his fresh venture into the world of digital marketing, Walton Goggins has set the stage for an exciting future, combining his love for storytelling with a commercial edge. As he confidently steps into this new role, audiences can anticipate a series of engaging and creative campaigns from the beloved actor.
