A father from Alabama has been arrested in connection with the tragic killings of a mother and her two children. William Graham Oliver, aged 54, faces eight counts of capital murder following the brutal slayings that occurred on April 19 in Wilmer, Alabama. The deceased have been identified as Lisa Ferguson, 46, and her children, 17-year-old Keziah Luker and 11-year-old Thomas Cordelle.

The three victims were discovered in their home, with their arms bound behind their backs, each positioned in separate rooms. Reports indicate that Keziah was around eight months pregnant at the time of her death. Authorities began their investigation after Keziah’s boyfriend, who was overseas, grew concerned when he could not reach her and subsequently asked his father to check in on the family. Upon arriving at the residence, the father made the grim discovery of the bodies and an 18-month-old child, who was found unharmed.

Initial reports detail the horrific circumstances surrounding the murders. Thomas Cordelle was found with severe injuries, including a throat injury that nearly resulted in decapitation. Lisa Ferguson also suffered a slit throat along with multiple stab wounds, while Keziah Luker had been fatally shot. The gruesome nature of these crimes has left the local community shaken.
Following the investigation, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office announced Oliver’s arrest on April 28, just over a week after the murders. The sheriff’s office has suggested that Oliver was acquainted with the victims, although details surrounding a potential motive have not been disclosed.
Neighbours of Oliver describe him as a kind and unassuming family man who appeared to have a stable life. Mark Coleman, a neighbour, described him as someone who spent considerable time with his children and maintained a good relationship with his wife, alongside his elderly mother living with them. Coleman expressed disbelief at the news of the arrest.
The local sheriff, who addressed the media during a press conference, confirmed the details of Oliver’s arrest but refrained from providing further insights into the investigation or the reasons behind the alleged crimes. “We do know a possible motive, but we cannot discuss it at this time,” he stated.
In light of these tragic events, a GoFundMe page has been established to offer support for Ferguson’s surviving son, the young child who was found unharmed during this distressing incident. Katherine Ayer, Ferguson’s sister, described her late sister as “kind” and an “amazing person,” reminiscing fondly about Thomas as a sweet child and Keziah as a devoted mother.
As the investigation continues, the local community mourns the loss of Lisa Ferguson and her children, grappling with the profound sadness these violent acts have brought. Authorities are expected to provide updates as the case develops, while Oliver awaits legal proceedings regarding the serious allegations against him.
At present, it remains unclear whether Oliver has entered a plea or secured legal representation. The severity of the charges marks this case as a significant focus for local law enforcement and the community, who are keen for justice for the victims of this heinous crime.
