In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the three men shared insights about their motivations for joining the show and hinted at how their journeys unfolded during filming. For Sean, who is 22 years old, the experience was a new venture. He admitted he had never heard of the show prior to his involvement but quickly watched the previous season to familiarise himself with its format. “I made the decision to take a leap of faith and participate in season 4,” he stated.
Similarly, Braden, 26, was also new to the series, expressing that like Sean, he researched the show before committing to the role. “My family and I had reservations,” he confessed, adding that it was actually his friends’ encouragement that propelled him to join. He reflected positively on the experience, saying, “I am very glad I did it.”
Meanwhile, Brett, who is 35, noted that his family didn’t have strong opinions about his participation. He revealed that he was ultimately pleased with how things unfolded on the programme, stating, “I’m happy with how things played out, and I don’t really have any regrets about what will be shown on TV.” He acknowledged the role of editing in shaping the final product but expressed excitement about the story’s evolution over the course of the season.
Sean hinted at a positive outcome, revealing that he concluded the season with more than he had anticipated when he first joined. “I’m extremely happy with the outcome of the show and feel very blessed to be sharing the relationship I have now,” he shared. He did reflect, however, on the impact of the filming process. “If I could go back and do it again, I would have made some different decisions—decisions that more clearly represented how I was truly feeling without the pressure of cameras and production in the back of my mind.”
Braden also hinted at a significant personal development, stating that his journey on the show “led me to one great decision.” The trio expressed enthusiasm for sharing their experiences with viewers, particularly highlighting the realities of farm life, which is often misunderstood.
Braden elaborated on this misconception, stating, “One common misconception about farmers is that we just hop in a tractor and plant or harvest and that’s it.” He explained that being a farmer involves many roles, including being a businessman, accountant, mechanic, and agronomist, among others.
Brett reinforced this sentiment by observing that farm life demands much more than the romanticised portrayals often seen in movies and literature. “It requires a ton of maintenance and dedication,” he emphasised, urging viewers to appreciate the hard work that goes into this lifestyle. Sean concurred, labelling the farming life as “extremely glorified” in popular culture. He underscored the challenges but also the fulfilment that comes from the work.
