Asteria will feature over 4,000 homes, providing a variety of dwelling options for families and individuals. The community is designed to encompass everything from single-family houses to duplexes, as well as specialised units catering to residents aged 55 and over. Home sales are projected to commence in the fall of 2027, with further information on housing options anticipated to be released in the coming months.
Among the standout features of the Asteria community is the introduction of the Second Star Club, which is described as the “social heart of the community.” A recent unveiling revealed a stunning five-bedroom property named Lost Key Cottage, inspired by the enchanting world of Peter Pan. This unique residence aims to immerse guests in the whimsy of Never Land, with elements designed to reflect the film’s fantastical aspects.

Lost Key Cottage will be available for community members to reserve for various occasions, including family gatherings and celebrations. The design promises to go “far beyond traditional residential amenities,” providing an interactive experience filled with nods to the classic Disney tale. Every aspect of the cottage will be thoughtfully curated to ensure that Peter Pan fans can feel a strong connection to the story as they explore its enchanting features.
While Lost Key Cottage will be richly themed, most residences within Asteria will include subtle Disney touches rather than overtly themed designs. This approach aims to integrate Disney’s charm into everyday living, while still offering a comfortable and stylish home environment.
In addition to the cottage, the Second Star Club will comprise a range of indoor and outdoor facilities catering to residents of all ages. It will house Marquet Hall, a two-storey signature restaurant, and an events pavilion called Piedmont Proper, providing a venue for community gatherings and special occasions. The recreational options are extensive, including separate swimming pools for families and adults, a playground, and tennis and pickleball courts.
Claire Bilby, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Storyliving by Disney, expressed her enthusiasm for the new community, stating, “We are especially excited to introduce the Second Star Club — a welcoming gathering place destined to become the heartbeat of this vibrant community.” She highlighted the vision of a neighbourhood where residents could engage in leisure activities and build connections, all while being inspired by Disney’s legacy.
Storyliving by Disney previously announced plans for its first community, Cotino, located in Rancho Mirage, California. This new initiative in North Carolina marks an exciting expansion of Disney’s ambitions to create residential spaces that foster community living infused with Disney’s signature storytelling.
As plans for Asteria continue to develop, Disney enthusiasts and potential homeowners alike are eagerly anticipating the various lifestyle offerings that will come with this new project. With its unique blend of family-friendly amenities and Disney-inspired designs, Asteria is poised to transform living experiences, bringing a touch of magic into the everyday lives of its residents.
