The story has sparked considerable interest, particularly among those fascinated by UFOs and DeLonge’s ongoing dedication to the subject.

Rubin recounted the event from his wedding, which took place in 2020, where he revealed that DeLonge apparently showcased a photo of a “dead alien” to fellow musician Trent Reznor. This surprising revelation has drawn attention, considering DeLonge’s well-documented interest in extraterrestrial life and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
In the podcast aired on 4 April, Rubin, 37, reminisced about the moment that followed the wedding ceremony. As he and his wife briefly retreated to their suite, they later joined the reception where he spotted DeLonge, 50, and Reznor, 60. Rubin described DeLonge as being quite tall, standing at 6’4″, which contrasted sharply with Reznor’s height of 5’7″.
Intrigued by what he perceived as a typical revelation from DeLonge, Rubin approached the duo, only to find that DeLonge had been showing Reznor some peculiar content on his phone. Rubin recalled thinking, “What is he possibly showing him right now?” He revealed that DeLonge has a habit of sharing his extensive knowledge of space and UFO phenomena with friends.
After exchanging greetings, Rubin asked Reznor about the contents of DeLonge’s phone. It was then that Reznor allegedly responded by saying, “That dude just showed me a dead alien.” Rubin reflected on the oddity of the moment, noting that “nobody else could conduct themselves in that way, and it be normal.” He characterised DeLonge as “unapologetically himself,” an attitude he finds infectious and memorable.
DeLonge’s fascination with UFOs is not new; in 2015, he left the pop-punk band Blink-182 to found To the Stars Academy, an organisation dedicated to promoting transparency around UFOs and extraterrestrial life. In addition to running the academy, DeLonge took on the role of executive producer for the six-part docuseries *Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation*, which explores unexplained aerial encounters alongside former CIA and Department of Defense members.
