The theft took place on 1 April, when the trailer was forcibly opened and drained of vital supplies. Noe reported that a 20-pound propane tank and several lanterns had been discovered discarded in a nearby ditch, suggesting that the thieves may have attempted to eliminate evidence of their crime. Noe’s wife promptly initiated a GoFundMe campaign aimed at replacing the stolen gear, which has already gained significant traction. The fundraiser exceeded its original target of $7,500, with contributions from members of the Optimist Club and other supportive individuals pushing the total amount raised to almost £8,000.

The Optimist Club played a pivotal role in the fundraising efforts, contributing a substantial $3,000 towards the troop’s goal. The prompt response from the community has not only provided financial support but also served to uplift the spirits of the scouts during this difficult time.
