In an interview with PEOPLE ahead of the release of her Mother’s Day Collection for her jewellery brand, Theo Grace, Hilton Rothschild revealed the reality of juggling family life with her professional commitments. She emphasised the importance of taking each day as it comes and prioritising what truly matters. “I feel like it’s a constant juggle… accepting that you can’t do everything perfectly,” she stated. “Some days you’re a great mum, some days you excel at work, and just trying to find that balance is tough, but family obviously always comes first.”

The upcoming collection, set to debut on April 6, is designed to honour the special bond that exists between mothers and their children. It features a range of elegant products, including rings, bracelets, necklaces, lockets, and brooches, all embodying a timeless appeal that aims to celebrate maternal love across generations. “The Mother’s Day collection is really about celebrating that connection through pieces of jewellery that feel personal and meaningful,” she shared.
The inspiration behind the collection has deep family ties. Hilton Rothschild’s mother, Kathy Hilton, was prominently featured in the campaign for the jewellery line, while her daughters played an active role in the design process. She also hinted that one of her daughters may be inclined to follow in her creative footsteps. “I think my youngest daughter is much more interested in fashion,” she said, referring to Theodora. “She loves eavesdropping on my Zooms and meetings and learning about the business aspect.”
Despite the growing interest in the fashion industry from her children, Hilton Rothschild noted that both daughters provide valuable input during the design phase. “When I’m designing, both of my daughters give me input,” she disclosed, sharing that Theodora has suggested themes for collections, including a rainbow-inspired line and a pride collection for French Sole shoes.
Beyond jewellery, Nicky recently collaborated with the luxury children’s clothing brand La Coqueta, where she reiterated her commitment to blending practicality with aesthetic appeal in her designs. “As a mum, I’m always looking for children’s clothing that feels timeless and special,” she explained, noting that her aim was to create classic pieces that children could cherish and eventually pass down. “Kids need to be able to move and play, so it was important that the pieces are both beautiful and practical.”
Hilton Rothschild also spoke fondly of the joy she finds in dressing her children, particularly her son. “For my son, laceless shoes are my favourite. I feel like they’re constantly becoming untied,” she said with a laugh. Moreover, she cherishes the matching outfits for her daughters, adding, “I know that those days are numbered, so I’m going to keep doing it until they don’t let me anymore.”
As she gears up for the launch of her new collection, Nicky Hilton Rothschild’s reflections on motherhood and her professional journey provide an insightful perspective on the complexities many working parents face. Through her designs, she seeks to capture the essence of familial bonds, blending her love for fashion with the responsibilities and joys of being a mother.
In a world where the pressures of work and family can often collide, Hilton Rothschild’s approach serves as a reminder that while achieving balance may be challenging, placing family at the forefront remains essential.
