Gabby Windey is set to make her hosting debut in the highly anticipated reality dating show, “Love Overboard,” premiering on Hulu on 26 March. The series, which boasts an executive production credit from influencer and podcast host Alex Cooper, takes viewers aboard a luxury yacht where a lively group of singles is on a quest for romance.

In an exclusive interview during filming in Malta last summer, Windey expressed her enthusiasm for the role. She noted her excitement about working with a cast she describes as “perverted and disgusting” and labelled them as “sex fiends.” This candid and humorous take on the participants adds an intriguing dynamic, as Windey explains, “I think this is really a National Geographic. This is what happens when you put hot, horny people together. This is the wild. This is nature.”
Windey’s forthrightness and ability to call out contestants on their actions were significant factors in her securing this role. Notably selective about her projects, she remarked, “Notoriously, I do say no to everything, but I knew this was going to be different.” Her decision to join “Love Overboard” came after receiving a call about the show’s exclusivity and competitiveness, saying, “Tell me Millie Bobby Brown is my competition and I’m going to work my ass off. And that’s exactly what I did in the chemistry test.”
Her commitment to the role appears to have paid off, as Windey recalls a pivotal moment during the audition process where her confrontational style resonated with the producers. “I was calling everyone a pervert and a sick freak, and they loved it. Here I am,” she laughed, reflecting on her unconventional approach.
Despite the show’s buzz surrounding its inception, Windey had limited interaction with Cooper during filming. “I know she’s really involved, so I feel just grateful for the opportunity that there’s so much buzz around the show,” she shared. Windey acknowledged the significance of being given a chance to host despite her lack of prior experience, saying, “[It’s] been great.”
Windey’s previous endeavours in reality television have been extensive. She rose to fame as a standout contestant on Clayton Echard’s season of “The Bachelor,” went on to be a co-lead in “The Bachelorette,” and most recently secured her victory on “The Traitors.” However, she views her new role as a transformative experience separate from her earlier appearances on reality television. “One thing that I feel like I’ve always tried to do is just maintain my authenticity,” she explained. “I think it’s easy to fall into delivering just information as a host, but I really wanted to make it my own.”
The show’s format promises plenty of drama and unpredictability, as highlighted in the official synopsis.
