A British woman has revealed that a skiing accident in the French Alps has driven her to take charge of her health, resulting in a remarkable weight loss of 70 pounds. Natalie Colbourne-Park, 43, faced the incident during a family holiday in January 2024, an experience that she described as both embarrassing and transformative.

At the time of her skiing accident, Colbourne-Park stood 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed 203 pounds. She recalled the unfortunate event, explaining that her weight played a significant role in the severity of the injury. “My knee went down the hill, and the rest of my body went up the hill, and it snapped my knee,” she shared. The incident occurred just two hours into the family’s ski vacation, leaving her feeling ashamed and causing distress among her loved ones.

The aftermath of the accident involved being rescued from the slope, where she was placed on a stretcher and covered with a plastic blanket. “I was completely embarrassed. I was skiing with my family and my in-laws, and I caused chaos for everybody. My kids were distressed because I was being sent away in an ambulance,” Colbourne-Park remembered. This incident was a wake-up call for her, highlighting the struggles she had faced with her weight for years.

Despite not being a binge-eater, Colbourne-Park had long grappled with her weight, partly due to poor portion control. “I would put the same amount of food on mine and my husband’s plate, and it escalated from there,” she revealed. Following her injury, she learned that surgery on her knee would be necessary, and she recognised that carrying excess weight would hinder her recovery.
In an effort to improve her health, Colbourne-Park decided to take action. She began using the GLP-1 medication Mounjaro, which helped her achieve sustainable weight loss for the first time in her life. “I’ve tried so many different diets. I lost the weight and put it all back on. With Mounjaro, I feel like I’m in control,” she explained, expressing gratitude for the noticeable changes she had experienced.
Over the span of six months, Colbourne-Park lost 70 pounds, which allowed her to feel more confident and agile. “I’m able to bend down and put my ski boots on and put my kids’ ski boots on,” she noted, reflecting on how her life had become easier since her weight loss. Moreover, she stated that she no longer feels the need to snack frequently, attributing her positive mindset to the medication’s effectiveness in managing her cravings.
Interestingly, Colbourne-Park has come to view her embarrassing ordeal on the ski slopes as a pivotal moment in her life. Despite the initial frustration, she now sees it as a blessing in disguise that spurred her towards better health. “In hindsight, it’s the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me because I wouldn’t be where I am now,” she said.
With her newfound passion for health, Colbourne-Park has leveraged her experience to create a supplement called HerVibe. Aimed at complementing GLP-1 treatment and addressing potential side effects, her product is designed to be accessible and sustainable for users. “There are lots of supplements on the market that try to replace GLP-1s. HerVibe isn’t that. It’s designed as a companion to sit alongside the journey,” she explained.
Colbourne-Park, who works as a sales manager with a background in pharmaceuticals and aesthetic medicine, hopes that her personal health journey will inspire others to take charge of their well-being. Her focus on creating products that genuinely support weight loss efforts exemplifies her commitment to helping others navigate similar challenges.
Reflecting on her transformation, Natalie Colbourne-Park’s story serves as a powerful reminder of how setbacks can lead to personal growth and positive change. Her journey to reclaim her health after an embarrassing accident underscores the importance of resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
