Disney is set to unveil its latest venture in the world of maritime travel with the launch of the ‘Disney Adventure’ cruise ship, making its inaugural journey from Singapore on 10 March. This vessel represents a significant milestone for the company as it is their first cruise ship based in Asia, promising a blend of entertainment, exploration, and relaxation for families and adults alike.
On 4 March, Disney celebrated the official christening of the ‘Disney Adventure’ in a grand ceremony attended by notable guests. The ship’s godparent, Robert Downey Jr., known for his role as Iron Man, officially named the vessel, marking the occasion with heartfelt remarks about the innovative experiences crafted by Disney Imagineering. “I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the team at Walt Disney Imagineering, and I can tell you Adventure is the perfect name for what they’ve created,” he stated.
Setting sail from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, the ‘Disney Adventure’ is designed to offer three- and four-night cruises. The ship aims to encapsulate over a century of storytelling through its various themed areas and attractions, ensuring a magical experience for all guests. Families will be particularly engaged with the immersive environments dedicated to beloved Disney characters and stories.
The ship features seven distinct themed areas, including Marvel Landing, San Fransokyo Street, and Toy Story Place. At the heart of the ‘Disney Adventure’ lies the Imagination Garden, an open-air courtyard featuring a central Garden Stage designed for grand performances, character interactions, and celebratory events for guests of all ages. Nearby, diners can indulge in the diverse offerings at quick-service restaurants such as Gramma Tala’s Kitchen, inspired by Pacific flavours, and Mowgli’s Eatery, which draws from Indian cuisine.
Guests will also find a vibrant Town Square that brings the enchanting world of Disney Princesses to life. This central hub includes themed dining establishments, unique retail options, and the renowned Walt Disney Theater.
