Tom Parker passed away in March 2022 at the age of 33, two years after being diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma. During their marriage, he and Kelsey welcomed two children, Aurelia and Bodhi, who were aged five and four at the time of Tom’s death. Kelsey’s grief deepened when she fell pregnant again with her current partner, Will Lindsay, only to experience the heart-wrenching stillbirth of their son, Phoenix. She recently revealed the news of Phoenix’s loss through a poignant Instagram post in June 2025, stating that he was “born sleeping.”

In her podcast discussion, Kelsey reflects on the stark differences in how her children coped with the death of their father versus the loss of their sibling. She explains that candid conversations about grief are essential, yet challenging, especially considering her children’s age and understanding. “When Phoenix died, they knew the reality of that as well,” Kelsey shares, highlighting the difficulty of reconciling their brother’s absence with their memory of their father.

Kelsey describes the moments when she has had to explain the losses to Aurelia and Bodhi, asserting that while they had accepted their father’s death, dealing with the loss of their brother felt more complicated. “I could just be like, ‘Oh, well, daddy wasn’t coming back,’” she recalls, contrasting this to the way they had engaged with grieving for Phoenix. “They knew, you know, my dad’s died. We’ve never seen my dad since Phoenix has died,” she added.
In her pursuit to raise her children amid grief, Kelsey acknowledges the profound responsibility of motherhood. She observes, “The biggest part that I’m sharing is that I still have to be a mum every day,” underscoring the emotional weight she carries while trying to support her children through their own grieving process.
Despite the sorrow, Kelsey and Will have made a conscious effort to keep Phoenix’s memory alive within their home. The nursery remains untouched, filled with Phoenix’s clothes, a poignant reminder of the child they did not get to know. She describes how her daughter Aurelia engages with the memory, playing with Phoenix’s toys and lovingly including him in her activities.
During a recent appearance on Sky News, Kelsey attempted to raise awareness regarding the inadequacies within maternity care in the UK, linking her own experiences with Phoenix to broader systemic issues that impact families. She expressed intent to share more about her journey and the realities facing mothers who go through similar experiences. “It was a really interesting topic, and obviously we were just talking about Phoenix, and I couldn’t open up completely,” she noted, alluding to the complexity of her emotions regarding this ongoing chapter in her life.
The public has rallied behind Kelsey, offering support as she navigates her multiple roles as a mother who must grieve while also providing care and love to her surviving children. Kelsey’s story resonates with many, highlighting the raw realities of parental loss and the way it affects the entire family.
As Kelsey Parker continues her journey, her willingness to speak about her experiences of love and loss provides solace not only for herself but also for others who face similar heartaches. She remains a figure of resilience, balancing her motherhood with a deep commitment to honouring both her late husband and her son. In doing so, she brings light to darker subjects, encouraging open conversations about grief and its profound impact on families.
