In a thrilling showcase of skill and determination, Cronk secured his victory in the 165-pound weight class, emerging as state champion. The triumph, a testament to his dedication to the sport, was soon overshadowed by an unexpected and romantic twist. Just moments after clinching his coveted title, the young wrestler dropped to one knee on the gym floor to propose to his girlfriend, transforming a winning moment into a life-changing one.
The unfolding scene was captured on video, which has since gone viral across various social media platforms, including Instagram. It shows an excited and surprised Cronk presenting a ring to his girlfriend before lifting her off the ground in a joyous embrace. The emotion of the moment resonated with viewers, contributing to its widespread popularity online.

Reflecting on the significant milestone, Cronk commented, “We’ve been dating for two years now, and it’s been just a long time coming. It was absolutely magical. Just a dream moment.” He shared that the proposal had been in the works for quite a while, making it all the more special when it finally came to fruition.
In an interview with Montana Sports, the young athlete revealed that he had a lot on his mind leading up to the big day. The night before the championship, he went to bed knowing that regardless of the outcome on the mat, Saturday would mark a pivotal moment in his life. However, he was acutely aware that winning his match was crucial to set the stage for his surprise proposal.
“Just a lot of excitement and a lot of preparing and visualising, trying to gain as much confidence as I can to get through that tough match,” Cronk explained. He acknowledged the pressure that comes with wrestling, emphasising how it could have been particularly tough to propose in the aftermath of a loss, though he indicated that the proposal would have occurred regardless of the match’s outcome.
Cronk also mentioned that he received his fiancée’s father, Jesse Schaeffer, who is also his wrestling coach, blessing prior to making the proposal. Schaeffer expressed his delight at the engagement, joking about the pressure his daughter’s fiancé faced. “If he hadn’t got that done, I think I would have grabbed him by the wrist and said, ‘No, not happening,’” Schaeffer remarked, recalling how much weight the situation bore on the young athlete during the championship.
“It obviously showed in his match. The pressure this sport creates—the atmosphere is wearing. Only having one match the whole day and obviously he’d been thinking about it a lot,” he added, wishing the pair a future of happiness together.
Interestingly, the focus of most of Cronk’s discussions with Schaeffer leading up to the match related to wrestling strategy rather than the proposal itself. “Focused on winning good positions and taking it one position at a time,” Cronk described, stressing the importance of not allowing any weaknesses that could jeopardise his victory.
Having achieved significant milestones both on and off the mat, Cronk has plans for his future following graduation. He intends to take a gap year before pursuing an education at the United States Air Force Academy, aiming to balance his passion for wrestling with aspirations for a military career.
The convergence of athletic accomplishment and personal happiness resonates deeply with audiences, making Blaise Cronk’s story particularly relatable and inspiring. As he steps into this new chapter of his life, both as a champion wrestler and as an engaged partner, there is much anticipation for what lies ahead for him and his fiancé.
