In a unique and unforgettable twist on wedding traditions, Marta Pennati and Cesare Prati skied their way to their reception in a stunning display of love and adventure. The bride, aged 33, and groom, aged 38 – who also happens to be a coach for the Italian national ski team, shared this extraordinary moment with their closest friends and family members. This unexpected entrance was captured by wedding videographers, Silvia and Benedetta of Frame Content Studio, who described it as one of the most original and heartfelt wedding moments they had ever witnessed.
The couple, along with six wedding witnesses, donned their wedding attire and swapped their dress shoes for ski boots before embarking on their snowy descent. The Italian Alps provided a picturesque backdrop as they glided down the hill to a banner that read “W gli sposi,” which translates to “Cheers to the newlyweds!” The contrast between the elegance of the wedding and the adrenaline of skiing created an experience that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Taking place on June 21 in Val Formazza, Italy, the wedding was a grand celebration with approximately 200 guests in attendance. While some guests chose to ski down alongside the couple, others gathered at the bottom of the hill to cheer them on. The idea to incorporate skiing into the wedding festivities came from the couple’s friends, who wanted to surprise them with a fun and adventurous twist outside the church.
Both Pennati and Prati have a deep connection to skiing, with Prati working in the industry and Pennati having a background in competitive skiing. Their families share a passion for the sport, making it a natural choice to include skiing in their special day. Despite the challenges of organising a summer wedding with real snow, the couple managed to make it happen with the help of Marta’s brother-in-law, who stored the snow under insulated sheets since the previous winter.
The ski descent, while lasting only around three minutes, was described by Pennati as incredibly fun and a unique moment that they will never forget. The joy and excitement of the experience perfectly captured the spirit of their relationship and the celebration of their love. This unconventional entrance added a touch of adventure and thrill to their wedding day, making it truly unforgettable for all who were present.
In a world where wedding traditions are often the same, Marta Pennati and Cesare Prati’s ski descent stands out as a testament to their love for each other and their shared passion for adventure. The couple’s willingness to think outside the box and create a wedding moment that truly reflects who they are as individuals and as a couple is truly inspiring. This heartwarming story serves as a reminder that love knows no bounds and that weddings can be as unique and special as the love that binds two people together.
